Portage Lake Center PTO, Inc. was organized in May 2006 as a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) to supplement our children's academic and athletic programs at Lake Center Elementary.

The PTO takes a very active role in the enrichment activities of Lake Center. We believe it is important to encourage a feeling of community spirit among students, parents/guardians and staff. This will foster a better understanding of the learning process through communication between parents/guardians and staff. We also support the school through volunteer and financial assistance.

In order to accomplish these goals, the PTO organizes and mobilizes the many parents/guardians and staff through their volunteerism to make an active contribution to the school community.

The PTO participates in several programs and activities throughout the year, many of which could use your volunteer help in 2006-2007. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer with any of our events. Dana Pope will make sure you're added to the list with the appropriate chair people.

We raise funds for various assemblies, programs and funding for extra items for teachers and staff. We try to make our fundraisers simple to use. Our basic fundraisers include: Meijer Community Rewards, BoxTops4Education and Target. Our main fundraiser is in the fall with a catalog company. This year we will again be working with Midland Fundraising. Please see our fundraising page to get further information

We urge all parents and staff to participate to the greatest extent possible in PTO activities.
