 September 2009 Happenings

Dear Friends of LCPF #465,
Because of the Labor Day Holiday, our September meeting will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009
at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall basement (corner of M-59 and Grand River) The Agenda for September includes:
1. FUN-FAMILY FIELD DAY, on Saturday, September 19, 2009, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Iosco Nature Center, on Roberts Road between Gregory and Bradley Rds. in Livingston County.
2. We still need a YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL MEMBER to replace retiring Amelia Tykoski. (attachment)
3. OUR 21 GUN SALUTE RAFFLE TICKETS are printed and will be available to members at the September 10th meeting.
You can become a priority seed member by selling 25 tickets equaling $250.00. Read about other ways of contributing to our MISSION by reading the attachment.
4. The Fall Tree Seedling sale (Livingston Co. Conservation District) is now available online. Deadline to place your order is Saturday, September 30th. The pickup location is Munsell Farms, 6850 Mason Rd. Fowlerville. Check the following website for more information: (copy and paste to your browser) http://www.livingstoncd.org/treesale.html
5. Attached are the minutes of the June 4th business meeting.
6. We planted over 600 acres of Roundup Ready Corn/Soybeans and the results are amazing. Some of you are having trouble dealing with excessive deer browsing. Steven Forche, a relatively new member, has suggested a solution for your next year's plans. He used the Plotsaver tape with great success. Check out the photos of the protected and unprotected portions of the food plot.
