DECEMBER 2009 - A SMALL GROUP BUT AN EXCELLENT EVENING

Cleo-Hattras join together in the Grand Suite of The Pillar Inn

On a crisp cool December 11, 2009 evening, six members of the St. Jospeh Cleo-Hattras chapter ventured out to enjoy a very relaxing night at a Cold Spring, Minnesota, Bed and Breakfast. The evening started with photos on the outside stoop. The house was beautifully decorated, warm, cozy, eye appealing, and mostly, inviting. Our hostess was very informative and we soon discovered - TALENTED!!! Those in attendance were in awe of the atmosphere and the delicous filling meal and specialty teas. Member Pam Reding mentioned she and her husband have stayed in the Grand Suite (pictured above) - how special is that!? So enjoy the evening through the "magic" of these photos. We all agreed it was an evening to remember. The Pillar Inn in Cold Spring is a must see, and the perfect opportunity will come again in Novmeber 2009 when their doors open to the public for their annual Christmas Open House - let's keep that on our list of possible events for our 2009 year.

St. Joseph Cleo-Hattras Visit Rosie's Home in March 2007
After having dinner at Baker's Square, the Cleo-Hattras headed over to Rosie's house to play "Polish Poker." Well, Rosie has been playing this card game for years and she was anxious to get us all seated so she could instruct us on the rules of the game. This was a really difficult task! We were all oohing and aweing at her beautiful Doll Collection. But once our curiosity was satisfied, and Rosie's daughter, Mary got us all situated with a glass of wine, we were fired up!!!!

Sharing some relaxation After the Game

Now by looking at the photos below, you can tell by the looks on our faces just how well this card game was going. After all, we were playing for BIG, BIG, STAKES!!!! NICKELS!!!!! Speaking for myself, I never won a game, and I went home losing well under a $1.50. We had a blast, and thank Rosie and Mary for hosting our March Red Hat Event.

JUNE EVENT IS A "GHOSTLY EXPERIENCE"
Our June 2007 event took us to Sauk Centre, Minnesota. We enjoyed dinner at one of the oldest and "ghostliest" hotels in the area. The food was "Delicious." The dessert was even more so. After dinner, we were told the history of the hotel and the "spotting" of some eerie sights. We then walked the few blocks to enjoy a most lovely concert in the park. The atmosphere could not have been more beautiful seeing we were next to a lake. We had a lovely time and wish to thank our hostesses, Sharon and Doris. Of course as we were sitting back and relaxing on this beautiful evening, we found out when we returned home, it wasn't so beautiful as a pretty severe storm had passed through. By the way...did anyone else see that little boy on the steps that tripped me!!!!????
