Candidates


Billie Jo Grams

Billy Jo will graduate from Delano High school in 2011
Her parents are Sandy and Rick Grams
She played Softball and Volleyball and was in the Math Hall of Fame. Her short-term goals include attending a college near Delano to be a Dental Hygienist. Her Long-term goals include graduating from college and finding a job. She would also like to get married and start a family.
Billy Jo feels it is important for a Delano Ambassador to be responsible, honest, have an open mind and be very outgoing. She must be willing to to try new things and meet new people. She feels she is very dedicated and realizes that this is an important quality that every Delano Ambassador should have also.


Jessica Ann Cook

Jessica has completed 3 years of high school at Delano
Jessica's parents are Dawn and Terry Cook
Jessica has been a member of the high school cheerleading squad for 3 years, is active in her church and has been dancing throughout her life. She as won many awards. Her short-term goals include graduating from DHS in 2012 and attending Ridgwater College to become a Paraprofessional. She would love to come back and work in the Delano School system or with Wright County. She looks forward to continuing to volunteer time to her community.
Her long-term goals include working in her field and with her community. She would like to get married and have several children of her own. Jessica has been told she has a wonderful personality and she likes to smile a lot. She feels she represents herself well and participates in her community volunteer opportunities. She loves to work with seniors and children. She feels that a Delano Ambassador should be polite, positive, outgoing and be knowledgeable about the City of Delano. An Ambassador should have experience in serving the community and have the ability to meet new people and be a leader. Most inportatly, an Ambassador should have as much love and support for the city as she does. Jessica feels she would represent Delano with respect and the utmost pride.


Jordan Wehr

Jordan attends Delano High School
Her parents are Jennifer and Jason Wehr.
She is a member of the high school LINK program, helping incoming freshmen to adjust. She also is a volunteer for Kids Against Hunger. She has been "Student of the Month for World Language" (Spanish)
Jordan's short-term goals include attending college here in MN so she can stay near her family. She would love to travel to Spain or somewhere in Europe to learn more about other countries. She really looks forward to studying abroad. Her long-term goals include being able to say she has traveled to another country. She would like to eventually get married and think about starting a family. She would also love to be working in a field where she would help people and love her job every day.
Jordan believes that a Delano Ambassador should always set a good example to others for her community; she should do her best in all that she does. Jordan believes she possess these qualities and she can prove so by doing her best in school and her volunteering opportunities


Kara Burley

Kara will graduate from DHS in 2012
Her parents are Sharla and Mike Burley
Kara has been part of Gymnastics, softball, volleyball, National Honor Society, S.H.A.R.P, LINK, Prom Committee and a Junior Guide at her church. She was a captain of the gymnastics team in 8th and 9th grade and will be again next year. She has received the Tiger award for 3 years in a row.
Kara's short-term goals are to go to college, travel abroad and see many other parts of the world. Her long-term goals would include graduating for college and finding a teaching job in a great community like Delano. She would really like to travel before starting a family.
Kara believes that a Delano Ambassador should be open and willing to try new things, be respectable, sincere and be a role model. Most importantly, she should represent Delano in a positive manor. Kara believes she could bring these qualities by being a kind and caring person who enjoys people and life. She feels she shows her positive attitude with her laughter and smile.


Larissa Hoen

Larissa will graduate from DHS in 2012
Her parents are Debra and Daniel Hoen
Larissa currently dances with the Star Seekers Productions and has for the past 12 years. She wants to continue with it. Larissa has been accepted to NHS and has received the "Most Improved" dancer award. As a freshman, she lettered in academics.
Her short-term goals are to graduate from High School and go to college to become a teacher. She wants to continue to volunteer in her community and to continue to improve her dancing. Larissa's long-term goals include graduating from college and going on to a teaching position with K-8 kids. She would love to own her own house and to travel to different countries to explore other ways of life. She would also like to continue her dance in some fashion
Larissa feels that a Delano Ambassador should have positive attitude and feels it is important to give back to the community. She feels an Ambassador needs to have a positive attitude toward her community.


Tylynn Murray

Tylynn has just completed her Junior year at DHS
Her parents are Ericka and Loren Entinger
She is part of the DHS cheerleading, gymnastics and Softball Teams
She has lettered for 3 years for Cheer and was the 2010 varsity cheer captain. She was "Student of the Month" in December of 2010 for Art and has been on the "B" honor roll since 7th Grade.
Tylynn's short-term goals include graduating from DHS and going on to cosmetology school. She wants to start working in a salon and to start working toward a four year degree. Her long-term goals are to graduate from a four year college, manage her own salon, travel, own her own home, get married and start a family
Tylyn thinks that important qualities for a Delano Ambassador to possess are to be kind and willing to help others. She should be passionate about representing Delano, have a positive attitude and be outgoing. She feels she possesses these qualities and is also very hard working and driven in all she does.
