Combining our efforts to ease the plight of the hurt and homeless

The Humane Society of Goodhue County Inc. is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1983. We are the only Shelter facility in Goodhue County. We take in all the stray and abandoned animals from Goodhue Co. We also assist Wabasha County when room permits.

Our goal is to continue to be a service to the County of Goodhue. We will continue to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering and the responsibilities of animal ownership. However because we are a non-profit organization we rely on public and private donations.

Below are some simple ways you can help. We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make. All donations are tax deductible.

There are many things people of all ages can do to benefit the Humane Society of Goodhue County, all the animals, yourself and the environment. Below are just a few ideas...

Aluminum Cans-bring in your aluminum cans to the Shelter. We will recycle and the animals will benefit.
Ink Jet Laser Cartridges-bring in your empty ink jet cartridges to the Shelter. We will turn them in to CRITTERS FOR CASH, an organization that will pay animal shelters for the cartridges.
Midwest Wireless Phones for Funds-
Midwest Wireless phones for funds program raised $68,663.00 for charities throughout the service area in 2002. The Humane Society was given a donation of $1,900.58 in 2002 and has been picked to receive a donation in 2003. This program encourages customers to donate used phones and accessories to be recycled into new wireless phones. Support phones for funds and the Humane Society of Goodhue County in 2004 and bring in your old phones to your nearest Midwest Wireless location today!
Help out with fund-raising events-October-December we will be selling our 2nd annual Remembrance Lights. (The form to fill out for these is in Shelter News). We are always open to new ideas. Got any good fund-raising ideas please let us know.
Volunteer at the shelter-
All shelter dogs deserve that little extra attention. Not only are walks great for them to get out, get exercise and be socialized but it is also fun and healthy for you.
We could always use a handy person here at the shelter for such things as yard work, building projects, landscaping projects, etc.
ADOPT A NEW FRIEND & FAMILY MEMBER!
We have so many wonderful animals waiting for that perfect and permanent home. Not only do they give you unconditional love but you go home with the satisfaction of knowing you helped control the already overpopulation of animals.
