![]() ![]() We are an officially chartered chapter of the Red Hat Society, a "dis-organization" of fun-loving ladies ages 50 and above (the Red Hats) and "Ladies in Waiting" under 50 (the Pink Hats). The Red Hat Society is based on a poem by Jenny Joseph which says, "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple, With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me...But maybe I ought to practice a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised when suddenly I am old and start to wear purple."
The Antique Little Girls chapter was initially formed by a small group of women who live in the Old Ferguson West neighborhood, a suburban neighborhood of 100 year old Victorian homes. The chapter now not only includes neighbors, but both old and new friends, ladies from surrounding cities and counties, ladies who are retired, career ladies, married ladies, divorcees and widows. Our membership includes ladies from 30 to 86 years young. We are truly enjoying making new friends and the diversity of our group! Since we are lucky to live in a large metropolitan area with plenty of activities in the community, geographical abodes of our members are of little significance. We are currently an open chapter and still accepting members. Can you come out and play? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

A Red Hat Society Prayer Loving Creator, in your extravagance You have painted the world with bold strokes and gloried in our differences. When colors proclaim our uniqueness, let our little eccentricities be expressions of our joy for living. When our time together looks like a costume party, let our gatherings be a time of genuine community. Most of all, use us: our flamboyances, our joy, and our sharing, that we may be a blessing to all we meet. The Rev. Dr. Jack E. Blesom

Why God Made Little Girls God made the world with its towering trees, majestic mountains and restless seas, Then paused and said, "It needs one more thing... Someone to laugh and dance and sing, to walk in the woods and gather flowers, to commune with nature in quiet hours". So God made little girls with laughing eyes and bouncing curls, with joyful hearts, and infectious smiles, enchanting ways and feminine wiles. And when he'd completed the task He'd begun, He was pleased and proud of the job He'd done. For the world when seen through a little girl's eyes greatly resembles paradise. Arthur E.
