Senior Center Slideshows SEMo University mathematics students were to plan a project using cans to build a structure. They had to plan the design, the size, plan a color palate for their design, and figure out how many cans it might take. Just click on the arrow in the center of the picture above to see all of their creative work. After the "Can-struction" project was finished, students could put money in a can to vote on their favorite design. The can with the most money wins the Students Choice Award. All of the canned goods and the money raised was then donated to our Senior Center to help give senior adults a little extra something for Thanksgiving. There was $37.18 raised in the money collection cans. The canned goods were all brought to the Cape Senior Center then bagged up, 12 cans to a bag. On the day of our Thanksgiving feast every person got a bag as they went home. Thank you to Gary Estes who donated the use of his pick-up truck to distribute the cans and to Spider Garrett who served as the truck attendant to give the bags away. This is the 4th year for the SEMo University Math Department to support us through this project. We are so very grateful to them for thinking of us and our senior adults with this worthwhile, well received and welcome project. ******************************************************************************************************************** ![]() DOROTHY'S NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE! ![]() CAKE AND PUNCH WERE ENJOYED BY ALL Dorothy Holzum has hung up her apron and has retired after 13 1/2 years of serving up tasty meals at Cape Girardeau's Senior Center.
