The Naomi Ruth Circle of Presbyterian Women meet together at the church monthly from September through June for a short business meeting followed by a Bible study led by members of the group. The time and date are announced monthly in the Carillon and bulletin. We use the Horizon Bible Study. Our 2011-2012 study is entitled "Confessing the Beatitudes". Author Margaret Aylmer invites us to consider the Beatitudes as they might have been heard when Jesus spoke them during the time of the Roman Empire. While great in many respects, Rome was a cruel and brutal regime that did not stop short of executing anyone who challenged its authority. As we study the Beatitudes it is important to remember this context.
