MACH 11 has come and gone and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend. There were 7 bikes with 11 people that left from the Huddle House, then we picked up a trike and 2 more bikes along I-55, and also met up with 2 more from the area once we got to Vicksburg. Our Missouri contingent = 16 participants joined by Gibby from Ohio and Gordo from Canada. Pictures below courtesy of Picky and Marlene:
Chapter Ride - Riding season is upon us and 5 trikes and 5 bikes (a total of 17 riders) headed towards Sikeston for a leisurely ride in the Bootheel bayou areas of New Madrid and East Prairie finishing up with a gorgeous preview of the Charleston Azaleas and Dogwoods. Afterwards, we rode to the Sikeston A&W/Long John Silvers restaurant to refresh ourselves. Great Day! ****************************************************************************************** 2011 Blessing of the Bikes - Pastor Dave T. and friends met at the Cape County Park flag pole for our 2nd Annual Blessing. Afterwards, we all had breakfast at Denny's and then went on to ride to St. Genevieve. It turned into a very blessed day for all. ****************************************************************************************** 2011 April Chapter Gathering - Dickie noted that a record number of 60 participants turned out for the April gathering and they included past members, visiting chapter participants from MO-Z and IL-O including many COY's and District staff representatives. Bruce and Sherry received their District COY medallions. Becky and Marc received a "Thinking of You when you weren't with us" memento.

Chapter I participants filled 36 boxes to overflowing with groceries and staples for 10 recipient families in Cape Girardeau County and the Safe House for Women. This is an annual event that is always a rewarding time for everyone.

Connie received her certificate for winning 3rd place in the newsletter category at Branson this year; a number of chapter members modeled their new tshirts, Crashing Sucks; Ernie provided new motorcycle awareness tshirts to those who participated in the Sikeston Rodeo Parade, and finally, ask Marlene about the white bunnies if you don't know the story!
2010 Poker Fun Run - Another Fun Run has come and gone. If you joined us, you know what a great time we had and if you missed out this year, never fear- we captured it in pictures for you here! *********************************************************************************************** Cape County Cowboy Church & Sikeston Rodeo- Chapter participants had a weekend ride to Cowboy Church riding in on their iron horses and then the next weekend we had a chance to ride along with horses again in the Sikeston Rodeo Parade. *********************************************************************************************** Bald Knob Cross, IL - A once-in-our-lifetime opportunity presented itself when the Bald Knob Cross Association allowed people to climb to the top of the cross for a bird's eye view of the surrounding countryside. After next weekend, panels will go up once again enclosing the cross's metal framework. Dave, Connie, Picky, Dickie and Roger rode over and all but Picky took a deep breath and huffed and puffed their way to the top. **************************************************************************************** Arthur (IL) with Art (Myracle) turned out to be a great weekend shared by Dave, Marlene & Roger, and Pam & Carl. We enjoyed the sites and Amish buggies of Arthur, ate food food with an Amish flair, and rode around the countryside. We visited a train museum in Monticello, IL and the Chesterfield iron bridge and cemetery where legend says an alleged witch is buried. They planted a tree over her to keep her spirit in the grave. On Sunday, we rode to Neihaus Honda in Litchfield for their annual appreciation days where we joined up later in the day with other Chapter participants. **************************************************************************************** Four Goldwings (ridden by the Haupts, the Bollingers, the Chiles' and the Rileys) and a Goldwing trike (ridden by Ron from St. Louis who rode along with us this year) headed to Anna, IL for the annual Blessing of the Bikes at Bald Knob Cross. This year's event was held under dark skies and a brisk wind - but even so, the bikers arrived for the pilgrimage to start out the riding season blessed. ****************************************************************************************
1st Annual Chapter I Blessing of the Bikes - A number of Chapter I riders and friends with motorcycles arrived at North County Park, Cape Girardeau beneath the flag pole for our 1st, local Blessing of the Bikes. The "family" circle was led in prayer for a safe riding season by Dave Thompson, chapter participant and Pastor of Morley Baptist Church. We plan on this being an annual, calendared event the first Saturday before Easter, so mark your calendars now for next year! Many of the attendees rode on to Giant City State Park, Illinois and had a great lunch...as you can see by the leavings in the pictures below, courtesy of Picky.
2010 Spring Fling "Pirates of the Ozarks" - Sherry, Bruce, Jim, Priscilla, Dennis, Donna, Roger and Marlene all attended the fun filled weekend at Lake of the Ozarks. Take a look at the pictures, courtesy of Marlene.
