To finish all patterns: With goods sides together take your "quilt top" and the backing fabric and pin together. You may also add batting. Sew all the way around the outside of the quilt leaving a hole, to turn, of about 6 - 7 inches depending if you use batting. Turn the quilt right side out, turning corners well, press and top stitch around the edge to help keep edges straight. Then "tie " or "quilt" approximately every 6". The fun of this pattern is to find a piece of fabric or a remnant to be the focal point of your quilt (a dinosaur print, cars and trucks, butterflies)…anything that will appeal to a child... that is at least 12" x 20" or 12" x 45". The average size for this quilt will be 32/33"x 45". Use this size as a guide, but have fun with the sections. Let your imagination run wild and have fun.
