03.jpgAbout Us....              A Joyful Noise Community Choir celebrated their 19th year of music ministry on February 25 and 26, 2012, at the Christ Tabernacle Church, 4022 Prospect, KCMO. Various music and dance ministries where on hand to help them celebrate.

About our origins... A Joyful Noise Community Choir was formed in 1993 through a divinely inspired vision to draw all our family members back to God. A Joyful Noise started practices in the basement of their mother's home. Leta Davis says, "We grew up singing God's praises together, thanks to the influence of our "radically born again" mother, Elnora Ford. But as we got older some went their own way and started singing secular music or joined other gospel groups, etc. This choir was the draw we needed to remind us of who's we are and who should get the glory from our music, and as the old saying goes "the family that prays together, stays together". Needless to say it thrilled our mother completely. She even sang with us on occassion. We are blessed to have various age groups in the choir because we have mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, nieces, nephews as well as spouses singing together. We were originally influenced by quartet singing and as our family grew we began to enjoy the choir sound from choirs such as, New Jersey Mass, Walter Hawkins and Love Alive Choir and Mississippi Mass, etc. Most recently our influence has been Fred Hammond and Radicals for Christ. We have several annointed song writers in our choir and they invite anyone that enjoys what they hear on the CD and would like to record their version of a song or have a song written especially for them, to send us an email. We'll pray about it and see what God has for you. For this ministry is truly "Not About Us", but about glorifying our God".
