About Us....         A Joyful Noise Community Choir is a delightful blend of contemporary and old school gospel music. Formed in 1993 they are veterans in the gospel music arena. They have appeared on various gospel music shows and were Omar Award recipients for best song of the year 2000 with the release of “He Lifted Me” and choir of the year for 2005. Recipients of the Newsome Award, 2007, for choir of the year. Their 2007 project is entitled “It’s Not About You”. This project will have you tapping your feet, while various other cuts will take you to definite heights in your praise and worship time. They recently completed a compilation CD featuring other family members entitled "It's A Family Affair". You can purchase their latest project or their 1999 CD entitled "From the Spirit of A Joyful Noise" by emailing:Leta Davis at letadav@peoplepc.com.

About our origins...  A Joyful Noise Community Choir was formed in 1993 through a divinely inspired vision to draw all our family members back to God. A Joyful Noise started practices in the basement of their mother's home. Leta Davis says, "We grew up singing God's praises together, thanks to the influence of our "radically born again" mother, Elnora Ford. But as we got older some went their own way and started singing secular music or joined other gospel groups, etc. This choir was the draw we needed to remind us of who's we are and who should get the glory from our music, and as the old saying goes "the family that prays together, stays together". Needless to say it thrilled our mother completely. She even sang with us on occassion. We are blessed to have various age groups in the choir because we have mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, nieces, nephews as well as spouses singing together. We were originally influenced by quartet singing and as our family grew we began to enjoy the choir sound from choirs such as, New Jersey Mass, Walter Hawkins and Love Alive Choir and Mississippi Mass, etc. Most recently our influence has been Fred Hammond and Radicals for Christ. We have several annointed song writers in our choir and they invite anyone that enjoys what they hear on the CD and would like to record their version of a song or have a song written especially for them, to send us an email. We'll pray about it and see what God has for you. For this ministry is truly "Not About Us", but about glorifying our God".
