Welcome to Speak Up!, a chapter of Toastmasters International located in Kirkwood, MO. Our chapter was chartered in June 2002 to create a supportive environment where members share the goals of excelling in public speaking and leadership. The club is open to all interested parties.

We meet at 7:00 pm on the 2nd and 4th monday of every month.

Visitors are Welcome!

We invite you to check out what Speak Up! Toastmasters has to offer by visiting one of our meetings. You can experience what happens during our meetings without any pressure to participate until you are ready.

Where we meet

We meet at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood. It is easiest to park at the back side of the hospital and use the West Entrance.

If you would like to contact us, call 314-821-5770 (ask for Miss Joan), or email speakup_toastmasters@yahoo.com.

The Mission of Toastmasters

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Benefits of being a Toastmaser

Here are just a few of the reasons why it's great to be involved in Toastmasters:

  • Communication Skills - Toastmasters is a communication organization. Communication is the catalyst for change, achievement, self-improvement and understanding.

  • Leadership Skills - As a Toastmaster, you experience leadership in regular club roles, conducting a speech, as a club officer, a committee chair and in other capacities.

  • Public Speaking Skills - The skill that Toastmasters is known for.

  • Building Confidence - Your confidence will show not only in Toastmasters but in all areas of your life.

  • Support Group - You have the opportunity to get up in front of people who have the same purpose: to learn from and teach each other.

  • Friendships and a Sense of Belonging - Toastmasters creates a sense of community, and the opportunity to build lasting friendships.
