What happens at a Toastmasters meeting?
A toastmasters meeting gives members a chance to practice their speaking skills. The general format of the meeting is:
- Business
- Toastmaster and meeting role introductions
- Word of the Day
- Thought of the Day
- Table Topics (impromptu speaking)
- Prepared Speeches (up to 3 per meeting)
- Evaluators comments
I'd like to visit. Can I just come to a meeting? Visitors are always welcome! You may just come to a meeting on the 2nd or 4th Monday at 7:00pm, or if you'd like additional information, call 314-821-5770 (ask for Miss Joan) or email speakup_toastmasters@yahoo.com.
How much does it cost to join?
Dues for members are $30.00 every 6 months. There is a $16 new member fee, with the member dues prorated depending on the month joined.
What do I need to do to join?
After you have attended a meeting or two and decide that you would like to join, fill out the application and give that, along with a check, to any one of the officers at the meeting.
