LYNWOOD LADIES' CHAIN GANG
This is a chain gang like none other you've ever seen! "She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy." Proverbs 31:13, 20 With basic crocheting or knitting skills, one has a unique opportunity to worship God. Thinking of, and praying for the recipient of a shawl, lapghan, or baby blanket becomes a spiritual experience. Prayers are crocheted or knitted into each stitch, blessing the makers as well as the recipient of the shawl, lapghan, or blanket. Whether it is called a prayer or comfort shawl, it is purposely made out of love and with care and concern for the comfort and blessing for those in need of solace, comfort and congratulations. Materials to bring: Crochet hook size H, I or J; light colored worsted weight yarn - suggested: Red Heart. What kind of commitment is required? Can I crochet/knit at home? What if I don't know how to crochet or knit? What age do I have to be to participate? I don't have time to do this right now. Is there another way to participate? If you know of anyone who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, lapghan or baby blanket, please contact the Women's Ministry Chain Gang regarding the need at 335-6993 or 335-2889. |
