Fear the Lord...
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Proverbs 30:31

Living Insight... You will discover in life, if you haven't already, that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him (see Romans 8:28). This searing pain, this blinding loss...by and by God begins to unveil a new plan you never would have imagined. And you will look back and say, "God was so faithful."

LYNWOOD LADIES' CHAIN GANG
This is a chain gang like none other you've ever seen!

"She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy." Proverbs 31:13, 20
Mondays @ 6 pm at Suzi Smith's house. See calendar for mapping directions.

With basic crocheting or knitting skills, one has a unique opportunity to worship God. Thinking of, and praying for the recipient of a shawl, lapghan, or baby blanket becomes a spiritual experience. Prayers are crocheted or knitted into each stitch, blessing the makers as well as the recipient of the shawl, lapghan, or blanket. Whether it is called a prayer or comfort shawl, it is purposely made out of love and with care and concern for the comfort and blessing for those in need of solace, comfort and congratulations.

Materials to bring: Crochet hook size H, I or J; light colored worsted weight yarn - suggested: Red Heart.

What kind of commitment is required?

  • We meet once a week at 6 pm on Monday to crochet, knit, pray and share.

    Can I crochet/knit at home?

  • Please do! In fact, this will be important to continue a steady supply of shawls, lapghans and baby blankets.

What if I don't know how to crochet or knit?

  • We will teach you. The items are made with very simple stitches.

What age do I have to be to participate?

  • Post high school and up.

I don't have time to do this right now. Is there another way to participate?

  • We welcome donations, whether they be monetary or supplies.

If you know of anyone who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, lapghan or baby blanket, please contact the Women's Ministry Chain Gang regarding the need at 335-6993 or 335-2889.
