    Welcome to MOMS Club!                    

    History
    The MOMS "MOMS Offering Moms Support®" Club is a support group for mothers who have chosen to stay at home to raise their children. We include mothers of all ages, as well as those who work out of their homes or part-time. The MOMS Club was founded by Mary B. James in Simi Valley, California in 1983, and is now an international network of over 2,000+ chapters and over 100,000 members. Local groups from across the country and even throughout the world share their ideas through our International Newsletter. In areas where there are several groups, local MOMS Clubs get together to network and plan activities. We seek to improve the status of at-home mothers everywhere.

    Chapter History
    MOMS Club of Lee's Summit - also serving the Greenwood community - was started in September 2003 and we are growing in size. Our club has a lot to offer our members. Each month, we have a monthly meeting, field trips, park days, playgroups, book club, recipe exchange, and MOMS Night Out. Children are welcome to ALL events, even to MOMS Night Out. We also conduct at least one service project each year that benefits children and their families in the Lee's Summit area, such as donating supplies to local charities. Dues are $20 per year, but if a hardship arises, accommodations may be made. No mother is turned away because of an inability to pay dues. We try to do fun things at little or no cost — we know how families tend to be on budgets!

    The goals of our chapter are simple:

  • We will make every mother feel welcome and supported by our chapter.
  • We will serve as a source of information and encouragement to all members.
  • We will perform an annual service project benefiting needy children in our area.

    Here are some of the things that make us special: 

  • We meet during the day, when at-home mothers most need support!
  • We believe being a mother shouldn't isolate you, so mothers may bring their children with them! For meetings, groups set up children's rooms with member volunteer babysitters (the children think they are at their own club!) and at activities, having children present is considered a natural part of life!
  • At-home mothers of any age children are welcome! You don't have to leave the group when your children enter school! We know you still need support as your children grow!
