The first president of Kiwanis International was George F. Hixson of Rochester, New York. He served in 1916 and 1917 and is the only International President to serve for two terms. The Hixson Fellowship of the Kiwanis International Foundation is named in his honor; Hixson Medals are presented to donors who have contributed at least $1,000 to the foundation's special Hixson Endowment Fund.

 Marshfield (MO) Builders Club

Builders Club is a coeducational service club for grades 6-8. It has four objectives: - To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and to the community.
- To develop leadership potential.
- To foster development of a strong moral character.
- To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
The Marshfield Builders Club was started in 2003 and is sponsored by the Marshfield Key Club. Faculty sponsors are Melinda Wessler, Marsha Donovan, and Ron Molder. The club meets every two weeks during the school year. The club had several service projects during the 2004-05 school year. One of the projects was a babysitting night for the teachers where teachers could go out for Valentines Day while club members baby sat their children at the school. Everyone had a great time. Election of officers for the 2005-06 school year was held on May 9. Outgoing faculty sponsor, Barbara Thomison, was presented flowers and a candle in appreciation of her support and guidance over the past two years. |
