FAITH & FREEDOM CELEBRATION

"HOME OF THE BRAVE"

There was standing room only in our worship center and balcony as the Lynwood Celebration Orchestra and Choir presented a musical anthology honoring our members and family currently serving in the military and also our veterans. Souvenir postcard pictures of veterans were taken starting at 4:30 pm, followed by the program at 6 pm. Each postcard had an American flag background with the veteran's portrait imposed over it. It also included the shield for the branch of service in which the veteran served. It was quite a keepsake for many to remember the evening by.

Not only did everyone get to listen to wonderful renderings of patriotic favorites by our musicians, choir and children's choir that were accompanied by breathtaking videos - we honored veterans in person as our special guests from the Cape Girardeau Veteran's Home and through family picture slideshows on the big screens.

A highlight of the evening was when veterans in attendance were invited down front when their branch of service theme song was played. The front of the church was overflowing with these honorees that we can be proud to rub shoulders with on any given Sunday! Did you know that Lynwood's very own Ed Proffer served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam? We thought he was just an ol' country boy. Well, he's an ol' country boy that loves his country!

The fellowhip hall was filled to the brim as attendees then gathered after the program for the ice-cream social hosted by the Fellowship Committee. This was a night that will be talked about for a long time to come.

ESSENTIAL MESSAGES FROM GOD'S SERVANTS - Summer Quarterly

Have you ever noticed how God works in the lives of various believers? Realizing that God is at work in the world, some of God's servants determine to join Him in sharing deeper spiritual insights into God's message as it works in and through their lives. - MASTERWORK, Summer Quarterly

"God, Do You Really Care?" will be the first of our summer bible studies written by Tony Evans.

When we are sick, afraid, hurting, disappointed, trapped, questioning of His will, and just plain don't believe - does He care? Come find the answers in the next 8 weeks as we immerse ourselves into each area mentioned above. When we are at our lowest points in life and begin to wonder if God really cares - Tony Evans helps us to understand unequivocally - "YES! He Cares!"

God wants us to hear His voice, understand and obey. "He Speaks to Me", by Priscilla Shirer will round out our summer studies. This study focuses on what we need to do to prepare ourselves to hear God when He chooses to speak. The results will be glorious.

Our class meets at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday morning and we have coffee and refreshments too. We hope you will come and join us in Rm. 207. These life messages for believers will help you live a vital and growing Christian life shared with like-minded Christian folks. We look forward to having you with us.

Let go of your mouse, and the icon will stay put - unless you have auto arrange turned on at your computer.
