Greetings all Red and Pink Hatters!

Our chapter has thirty plus members. Many of us just happen to belong to the First Baptist Church of Villa Ridge, but this is in no way a requirment. Not all, but most of us ladies are into scrapbooking and/or Rubber Stamping. The ONLY requirments to be a member, is to love the Lord, Jesus Christ and to wear the proper attire while out as a group. As the Queen, I expect everyone to love and accept each member as Jesus would. Clickish, judgemental and gossipy behavior is unacceptable in this chapter. We are here to have a good time and though personalities can clash, I expect everyone to walk in love and grace. You don't have to be invited to join. Just e-mail me your request, along with a short bio, your birth date, address, phone number and favorite bible verse. You will receive a welcome letter after you are signed up. Have a great day being YOU!

A FEW PAST EVENTS

Singing in The Rain at the Muny was great. Those who braved the heat on July 23, 2005 were rewarded with a great show.

We had twenty Red and Pink Hatters attend our lunch at Eliah's on Sept. 13th. We had several new Hatters join our chapter. After Lunch we went to the Baptist Asso. Building and enjoyed the Round Table Event. We dressed our tables to the hilt and had a wonderful time. The music and guest speaker was superb. What a day!

Only 6 Red Hatters and 2 Pink Hatters were able to make the trip to Carthage Missouri to attend the Precious Moments Event, Oct. 21-23, 2005. We had a great time! We Stayed at the Best Western Friday and Saturday night. There was a welcome tea at the hotel Friday evening. The events, food and attactions were great, and we were blessed with wonderful fall weather. The only thing missing was you! (if you did not attend)

In November 2005 we had some wonderful BarBQ at Don's Diner before enjoying a patriotic show at the Meramec Theater in Steelville, MO. Many of the Husbands joined us.

March 2006, we celebrated out second year anniverary; where it all started, Hawthorn Inn, Labadie, MO. What a wonderful time we had.

Jan. 15, 2006 four of us went to the Keil in St. Louis for the 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships: Exhibition of Champions. These skaters later represented USA in this years Olympic in Italy and returned with metals!

May. 13, 2006 we had our 2nd annuel Pinkette Tea. This year we celebrated at Two Sister Tea House in Fenton, MO. We now have several honorary girls ages 6-16 who have commited to living life as a chirstian with good values and respect for parents and admiration for their older Red Hat sisters.

Jan.20, 2007 we got together for salad and made 'cocktail hats' to wear when full head-dress is not practical. We also made valentine cards to be passed out in February to residents at a local nursing home.

At our March 2007 gathering, we had a special coronation for our first ever Vise Queen, our Lady of Leisure. A Red and Pink Hatter was inducted and we had our first Reduation! It also marked our 3rd year anniversary.

There were 7 red hatters and 2 pink hatters to attend the Branson Fest Hoot in April, 2007. Everyone enjoyed the Pointe Royalle Condo's.

A special Thanks to our Vice Queen for planning and hosting the annuel Pinkette Tea in May, And to Princess Anastasia for the tiaras. The girls felt so special.

June we had our first Family Picnic at St. Clair's Orchard Park. Lots of good food and a good time for all. Next year promises to be even bigger!

July's outing was a mystery ice cream run. Our Queen surprised everyone with a stretch limo ride to Fritz and a cruze on the river front in Washington.

Nov. We ate a wonderful lunch at Sybels in St. James.

Jan. We were thrilled to have our Vice-Queen Jean attend our PJ party at the Sleep Inn at Washington, MO. Everyone had a blast. Christians by Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'." I'm whispering "I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Dear Lord and Savior:

We thank you for Stampin with God Red Hatters here. Grant us peace and keep us near. We've all worked hard, it's time to rest; We'll sit and chat with lots of zest! About childish things and our silly ways, about hats, pearls, rings and the good ole days. Bless our time off having fun. Without us being on the run! We'll sit and relax with out a fuss, These special time's set aside for us. Well take deep breaths, go with the flow, leave the world outside and all our woes. Watch over each red and pink hatter from above, and teach each one to share your love.

Amen

SISTERS

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, Drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As They talked about life, about marriage, about the Responsibilities of life and the obligations of Adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her Glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance Upon her daughter.

"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling The tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll Be more important as you get older. No matter how Much you love your husband, no matter how much you Love the children you may have, you are still going To need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now And then; do things with them."

"Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women... Your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other Women relatives too. "You'll need other women. Women Always do."

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman Thought. Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a Married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely My husband and the family we may start will be all I Need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact With her Sisters and made more women friends each Year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, She gradually came to understand that her Mom really Knew what she was talking about. As time and nature Work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman, Sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world, Here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL: Time passes. Life happens. Distance separates. Children grow up. Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes. Men don't do what they're supposed to do. Hearts break. Parents die. Colleagues forget favors. Careers end. BUT......... Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how Many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away Than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you Have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life Will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, Praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on Your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the Valley's' end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk Beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, Daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended Family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and Neither would I. When we began this adventure called Womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or Sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we Would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on To all the women who help make your life meaningful. I just did. Short and very sweet:

There are more than twenty angels in this world. Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are Playing. And one is reading this at the Moment.
