Colorama is our annual motorcycle rally. This year it was held in Dogpatch, AR just about 7 miles south of Harrison on highway 7. The road itself is legandary in motorcycle circles. Weather was not so good on Thursday and Friday with cold rain.
Due to the facility we had this year it all worked out very well. We provided some good indoor motorcycle related activities. Various videos were shown including Hard Miles, Ride Like a Pro, Iron Butt Rally Tips, etc. By Friday night the weather had cleared and we had a great dinner ride very well attended.
By Saturday the weather was good again, though a bit cool. We had some good rides and a great time thorughout the day and into the night. Our campfires were pretty jinxed by the weather but the opportunity to do our visiting inside seemed welcome by all.

As you are aware, during the winter our ride schedule is not so active. We pretty much have to pick a day here and there when we can. Anyone and everyone is invited to let us know when and where you would like to have a group ride. If you let me know, I would be happy to send out a group email. Riding with electric clothing plugged in and operating sure beats sitting in the garage on the bike uttering motorcycle noises.
Congratulations to Steve Short on his recent purchase of a 2010 Pearl Black GL1800 ABS. It is beautiful and I'm sure it will at least equal his '05 in time. With 280,000 miles on his '05, he has a long way to go with this one.
Congratulations to Shauna Painter for attending and riding her own bike to her first ever motorcycle rally. She took home the youngest rider award from Colorama. Just kids I tell you!
Welcome Lee Shaffer to Lake Country Riders. He has joined us on many activities lately. He started riding with us just as the weather became less hospitable. As a result he has been on several rides when our numbers were severely down. Lee we're glad to have you.
We are open to ideas to help us improve as a motorcycle club. Let us know what you would like to see different or how we can better serve our membership. You may make your suggestions known to Steve Short, CD or myself. Remember our winter meeting is a great time for planning for the coming year. Usually the banquet meeting is held in February. Any ideas need to be introduced prior to that so we can have a good discussion at the meeting.
Keep the diry side down.
