Using colorful, descriptive language helps us communicate our thoughts and ideas in an interesting way. Every Toastmaster meeting has a Grammarian whose role is to suggest a "Word of the Day" and to listen and give feedback to participants as they use the word or other descriptive words and phrases to express themselves.

Recent words have included: plausible; conventional; affect/effect.

Challenge yourself to expand your vocabulary! A helpful website is http://dictionary.reference.com/

"A speech is like a love affair: any fool can start one but to end it requires considerable skill." Stormont Samuel Mancroft, a British business executive and writer
