Rescues, Stories and Why We Need SPONSORS
![]() SOME THINGS THAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW Sure, it is true that there are people out there that will take the time to stop and help an innocent, scared, abused or abandoned animal. Those are the people that I admire and respect. But just like everything else in the world you have people in this world that think it is okay to take one of these precious innocent beings and starve, neglect, torture, inhumanely kill or cruelly dump a dog, cat, puppy or kitten. Even though we try to help these animals we are like so many other non profits in the country. We just do not have enough funds to do all that we would like to do to help. This is where you come in. If you could sponsor just one of these rescued special needs animals it would make all of the difference in the world.
![]() ABOUT SPONSORSHIP . Sponsorship is so easy and it only takes a few minutes to look at each one of these adorable animals and decide to help. You don't have to donate hundreds of dollars to be a sponsor. Every little bit helps. For example - a financial gift of just $5 can buy a bag of food. Believe me when I say that a gift like that is like winning the lottery for a small grass roots organization like this one. Any amount that you can afford will be accepted with appreciation and gratitude.
![]() AS A SPONSOR YOU WILL RECEIVE Each sponsor will get a photo of the animal the he or she chooses to sponsor and updates on their progress and their status in health, socialization amd more. No paper work to clutter up you desk it is all done by e-mail. Saving both time and money while letting you know where your donated funds are going.

![]() ABBY
![]() Abby - The name stands for abandoned
This beautiful little girl was buried up to her neck in a hole inside of a barn under a mound of boards that I stepped on trying to find the kitten that I kept hearing. The farm had been abandoned and there was not a soul around. I had been going out there trying to help several cats and kittens that had been left behind by some truly uncaring people. This little one was one that I had not ever seen before. She was scared, sick, starving and what happened is still a mystery. We don't know who put her in that hole or why. We only know that if I had taken one more step on those boards I would have smashed her.

![]() True love is not just for humans
I will never forget that cold dark night when I had just come home from work and was sitting on the step out in front of my house. I used to hurry home just so that I could get those starving outside cats fed before they would try to cross the busy highway in search of food. My house sat next to a bar and there was no one that came or went that cared about these little ones. As I sat there I noticed that one of the older kittens that I had been feeding came up. He was an adorable little gray tabby cat that had this amazing personality that just seemed to speak to me. He always came with his entourage. A seal point himmy with gorgeous big blue eyes, a rag doll with blue eyes and tonight he had someone new..a very talkative little rustic tabby that was female all of the way. She would prance around and every step she took she had something to say. I watched them for awhile and than as soon as I was satisfied that they had eaten and all of the cars were gone I got up to go inside wishing that there was a way to trap them and get them to the vet without upsetting them too much or scaring them away for good. As I opened the door Tabby grabbed his girl friend by the neck with his teeth gently but physically and walked her right into my house. She didn't struggle and once inside he turned and meowed at the others. They walked right in too. It took me a bit to raise the funds to get them to the vet to be altered so while we waited I made sure to keep them all seperate so there would be no surprises. I had no idea that the surprise would be on me. In no time at all Bebo gave birth to four babies. Tiggy, Smoke, Charcoal and one that was still born. Tabby knew that his sweet heart needed help and he made sure that he found a home for his family so that they would be taken care of. The picture of them above was recently taken. They are still a couple and they still love each other. No nap would be good unless they were cuddled together. There have be no more kittens as they were fixed as soon as she had healed from having her babies over eight years ago.

![]() Emily and me just before she was transported to her new home
As I stood outside talking to a friend this couple went by. I really didn't pay much attention to them other than the fact that they had this really cute dog with them. I continued to talk and than when she left I went on inside. A few minutes later a heard this strange noise and I went out side and the cute little dog had been tied to the fence post and the couple was no where to be seen. They had abandoned her and all I could do was to contact the police. They told me that there was nothing that they could do with her so I was left to figure it out on my own. I brought her inside and one I had her settled in I got online to post the information to the other rescue groups to see if someone could help in this horrible situation. It wasn't long before a couple from out of state made the long journey to come and get her and take her to her new home. I soon found out that after her initial vet visit she was loaded with heart worms and had other medical issues. That was probably why she was dumped. I guess it was easier for them to get rid of her than to make sure that she would be ok. I miss her and hope that she is doing ok. I have not heard from her new family so I am keeping all paws and fingers crossed that she is happy and living a good life. ![]() TOOTSIE POP
