The Whiteman Officers' Spouses' Club is a non-profit organization whose mission is to organize and sponsor educational, charitable, and social activities. The goal is to provide information of interest to the members and to foster the ideals of charity and fellowship.

Time to get involved! It isn't too early to start thinking about what position you would like to do for the WOSC Board in 2009-2010. All members of the current board are PCS'ing this summer, so we will need a fresh group of talented and motivated spouses to take their place. If there is a position you are interested in, you can get more information from the current board member or contact Tammi Naman. The elections will be later this spring, but now is the time to think about where your talents can be used!
The Thrift Shop is OPEN!! Tues and Fri from 10am to 2pm. PLUS on Sat, Jan 10 for the UTA weekend. There will be a make-up workday on Jan 21. See ya then.

As many of us know, there are many functions to attend throughout the year that require formal attire for our spouses. Functions such as ALS graduation, quarterly and yearly awards, induction ceremonies and of course the Air Force Ball. We encourage our young troops and their spouses to attend but fail to realize that many of them are unable due to costs of tickets and formal attire.
The Cinderella Project was started in 2006 (Seymour Johnson AFB) collecting formal gowns for spouses who were unable to afford one. These gowns were made available to any spouse who needed one, free of charge. They simply walked in, pick one out, and took it home with them. It was theirs to keep, or if they chose, they could have it cleaned and brought back for someone else.
The Cinderella Project is alive and well here at Whiteman AFB. It is a wonderful project, the smiles, tears of happiness and endless thank you’s tell a story in itself.
If you have any formal gowns, shoes, accessories that you would like to donate to a wonderful project it would be greatly appreciated. You can bring them to the Airman's Attic during business hours.
