Bubba & Steve

Steve & I adopted Bubba in Nov.2003, He is 10yrs old. WE are the 3rd owners. He was not on a good diet , had been put in a room to himself, and had no interaction with his 1st owner. His 2nd owner kept him for a year. He improved a little, but he con't to bite ,scream, & pluck his feathers. Now that we have him , he is on a good diet . He interacts alittle with the other birds. He loves his new Pappa. Steve takes a lot of time with him. Bubba will still bite me if he gets too excited. He is a VERY nervous bird, & he still plucks his feathers when he gets upset, but he is doing much better.

Oscar

This is Oscar, We adopted him in Nov. of 2004. At the fair were we had a booth, there was a lady who had a bunch of parrotlets my son helped her with her table, She came to me and asked me what I thought about adopting this poor little guy.. She thought my son was so good with all the birds and thought we would give him a good home.. See Oscar was a very special little boy who has special needs, When he was a wee baby still in the nest his mother chewed off one of his feet completely and all but two half toes on the other foot, He has to stay flighted in order to get around.. But to see him you would never know anything is wrong.. On his head he had a big sore where one of the other Parrotlets attacked him. His head is healing up nicely and feathers are growing back over where it was bald. .. Oscar lives in a cage here by my computer.. He is so sweet and enjoys watching me while he sits on the arm of his little teddy bear. He has found his permanent home!

Dec. 2004,
Above are the newest members of our family both were rescue's and our family adopted them from a club member who had rescued them a couple of weeks before and gave them their final home a week ago.. Peaches is great.. He's a Moluccan Cockatoo, Who has a great personality with a large vocabulary! He is also very affectionate and is close to 5 years old. Paradise is a Blue & Gold Macaw and she is coming around and learning to trust us as well.. She is now affectionate and loves to play and talks fairly well she is 3 years old. Both are doing well.. and will now step up when out of the cage.. both are eating a good diet ... and Peaches is starting to get her pins coming in where she had previously plucked because of stress. Both my husband and I have spent a lot of time this past week with both these birds to help repair them so that they may live happy lives with us, this will take some time to do but they have came a long so much in just a week!
