WELCOME TO de l'Epee Deaf Center
de l’ Epee Deaf Center was established in 1978 by the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi. A multi-purpose social service agency serving deaf persons of all ages, their families, and other agencies or businesses who have deaf clients and need assistance in serving them.
The center is named for Abbe Charles Michel de l’Epee, the French priest who started the first school for the deaf in Paris in 1755.
Professional interpreting services are available to businesses and organizations through the center by appointment and for emergencies. All interpreters dispatched by de l'Epee will have a quality assurance rating and be registered with the State of Mississippi authorizing them to work as a sign language interpreter.
de l’Epee serves People of all faiths.
Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing participate in the many activities of de l'Epee Deaf Center.
de l'Epee means the Sword in French, thus we are proud to present our newsletter, "The Sword".
