Chapter History ![]() Rim Rock Chapter Charter Members This picture appeared in the Billings Gazette in 1959 and the caption underneath says: Chapter Formed-Billings Chapter of National Secretaries Assn. was organized at a dinner meeting Wednesday in Turf Penthouse and officers were installed. Standing from left are Mrs. Marie Smith of Littleton, Colo., installing officer; Miss Anne Pekovich, president, and Miss Angie Ekstrand. Seated are Mrs. Betty Palmer, vice president; Mrs. Atha Stone, secretary, Miss Florence Majerus, treasurer. Mayor Carl Clavadetscher was a guest. The following is quoted from Volume I, Number One, of the Rim Rock Chapter Bulletin, September-October 1959: We Became a Chapter On June 10, 1959, friends, guests and prospective members of the National Secretaries Association (International) met at the Turf Penthouse for dinner and an organizational meeting of the new Chapter in Billings. Mayor Clavadetscher gave a brief speech applauding secretaries and the efforts being made to organize an NSA chapter in Billings. Twenty charter members were installed in 1959. In 1960, the chapter held its first annual “Secretary’s Day” event, a Secretary Tea and Style Show. |
