CHAPTER MEETING - June 17, 2009
Drugs in the Workplace / Presented by Detective Ken Tuss and Jamie Ogger, Administrative Support Specialist. Jamie had been a previous meth user and managed to hide it from her employer and employees but is now a success story!

CHAPTER MEETING - April 15, 2009
Edible Landscape / Presented by Kathy Petersen and Stephanie Garvey from Field of Dreams. Field of Dreams was started in 1993 as a wholesale distributor of landscape plants. In 2004 the retail division opened. They carry trees, shrubs, perennials and also have seasonal annuals in their garden center and a gift shop that is open year round. They employee 20 people, half of them being permanent. They have special holiday activities and landscape designers on staff. Their facility is located off Sugar Avenue behind the Sugar Beet factory and would be worth your while to visit.

Reflexology / The Chapter met up at Travel Café and learned Travel Tips presented by Amanda Mears from the Travel Café.

Reflexology / Chapter member Cynthia Hanson CAP conducted Ethics training. Certification Points were given.

CHAPTER MEETING - January 21, 2009
Cultural Competence Training / Robert Kuhr of the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch provided an inspiring program. One of the key things participants took away was that basically the current reality of our ‘culture’ is how we act and react to people.

Moss Mansion Tour / Fun was had by as all we toured the historic and beautiful Moss Mansion "decked out to the nines" with gorgeous Christmas decorations.

Disaster and Emergency / Jim Kraft, Yellowstone County, presented a review of Disaster and Emergency preparedness in Yellowstone County.

CHAPTER MEETING - October 15, 2008
IMPACT Meeting / The membership committee hosted the evening and provided information about IAAP and the Rim Rock Chapter to prospective new members.

CHAPTER MEETING - September 17, 2008
Windows Vista / Ashley Dockery, City of Billings' IT Division, gave a tour of Windows Vista, explained the new features, and answered questions. Great information!

CHAPTER MEETING - July 16, 2008
Annual Summer Social / president Deanna Anthony provided barbequed steaks and chicken and members brought their favorite dishes. Good food and fun were shared by all!

CHAPTER MEETING - March 19, 2008
Interviewing from Both Sides of the Table / Tom Martin, Employment Specialist, Billings Job Service Workforce Center, gave an excellent presentation. He also provided lots of handouts, including sample interview questions, illegal job interview questions, a model for interviewing and selecting employees, etc.

Neck Pain to Wellness Maintenance / Dr. Patricia Holl, Yellowsotne Naturopathic Medicine, gave a wonderful, and sometimes hands-on, presentation. She also explained naturopathic medicine.

Grace Under Pressure / Chapter member Karen Sable CPS presented a timely and interesting program on stress. She also provide excellent tips on how to know if you are under stress and ideas for helping to reduce stress.

2007:

CHAPTER MEETING - December 19, 2007
Holiday Social / The chapter's program committee hosted an excellent holiday social event that included a shopping scavenger hunt at Rimrock Mall. Items purchased during the scavenger hunt were donated to charity to brighten the holiday season for a needy family.

CHAPTER MEETING - November 14, 2007
Microsoft Outlook Tips & Tricks / Using a SMART board, Tam Rodier CAP presented useful tips and tricks for getting the most out of Outlook. Participants each received a handout to enable them to customize settings, etc. once they got back to their offices.

Forward Moving / The Rim Rock Chapter's membership committee presented information about the IAAP organizational structure, certification, benefits of membership, and information about the progress to date setting up a new chapter in Havre, Montana.

Employee Practices Liability & ID Theft Insurance Coverage / John Robers of Payne Financial informed the group about employee practices and liability insurance coverage, identity theft insurance coverage, and provided excellent handouts.

Chair Yoga/Stress Relief / Nancy Schultz of Perfect Balance demonstrated several very useful yoga and stress relief exercises.

The Rim Rock Chapter Membership Committee hosted Shaping Your Future, an evening of information and networking where guests learned more about what IAAP has to offer and how we can assist them in meeting their administrative goals for excellence.

Public Safety Mill Levy / Billings Mayor Ron Tussing, Police Chief Rich St. John, Fire Chief Marv Jochems, and City Controller Pat Weber presented an informative session on the City of Billings' Public Safety Mill Levy.

Website Design & Maintenance / Chapter members Tam Rodier CAP and Amanda Carillo presented a wonderfully informative session on website design and maintenance using the IAAP Rim Rock Chapter website as their model.

University of Mary Degree Completion Program / Bridgit Hanson presented an engaging program describing their Billings campus, the degree programs available, and how to utilize CPS and/or CAP certifications with their programs.

"Excel Tips & Tricks" / Geoff Brown, with Entre Computers presented.

CHAPTER MEETING - January 18, 2006
"Five Keys to Financial Success" / Chad Lippert,CFP, with D. A. Davidson presented. Chad is originally from Fort Benton, he is a Montana State University graduate and holds a degree in Business-Finance. He has worked for D.A. Davidson in both their Bozeman and Billings offices. The presentation was excellent. His message was timely, informative and useful to all of us.

2005:

CHAPTER MEETING - December 14, 2005
Vista Grande - Retirement Trust Foundation / Chapter Member Karen Sable CPS presented a program on "our place in the sun." There was also an ornament exchange game and we collected packages for our adopted family for the holidays.

CHAPTER MEETING - November 16, 2005
Enhance Your Career / This was our annual recruiting meeting. We were honored to have two local employers on hand to speak to members and guests about why they appreciate their employees' involvement in IAAP. The group was also treated to a skit illustrating the difference in admistrative work between 1960 and the present.

CHAPTER MEETING - October 19, 2005
Mayoral Candidate Forum / Candidate Ron Tussing shared his views about city government and his plans for the future, should he be elected. Candidate Al Garver was unable to attend, but he provided information to be distributed to members.

CHAPTER MEETING - September 21, 2005
Web Cams / Sheryl Wood with Computer Lifestyles presented. She said many businesses are changing their bylaws so board meetings, etc. can be held using a web cam. It is possible to take both digital pictures and video with a web cam. You should base your purchase decision on why you are using it (security, motion detection, resolution, etc.)

CHAPTER MEETING - August 17, 2005
Chapter Leadership / Rim Rock Chapter Member and past president Karen Sable CPS delivered a powerful presentation on leadership. Her presentation highlighted the fact that leadership skills are as essential in IAAP chapters as they are in today's workplace.

CHAPTER MEETING - July 27, 2005
Annual Summer Social / This was our annual summer potluck/social event. Members brought a variety of wonderful dishes and the chapter provided meat and buns. Wyo-Ben generously provided their patio and meeting room, paper products, condiments, water, bottled tea, and pop. The chapter scrapbook and photo album were also available for viewing.

CHAPTER MEETING - June 15, 2005
Women's Health Issues / Roberta Bourgon ND, Naturalpatic Physician, and Laurie Neubauer, Physician Assistant, with the Deaconess Billings Clinic Wellness Center presented Women's Health. Our 2005/06 Chapter Officers were also installed.

CHAPTER MEETING - May 18, 2005
Annual Business Meeting: There was no program as it was our annual "Business Meeting." Each committee presented their annual report, we reviewed and voted to accept the bylaws and standing rules changes, and we had a wonderful meal and networking.

MANAGE TO LAUGH EVENT - April 26, 2005
The Rim Rock Chapter and the MSU-B College of Technology brought a top-notch event to Billings. The program was one-of-a-kind and designed to help people enhance their working experience by bringing humor into the workplace. 113 people attended and everyone had a great time.
