Upcoming Events...

Saturday, March 1 will be our next Chapter Gathering. We are meeting at the Breaks (corner of 2nd Ave So. and 2nd Str. So.) at 1:00 for lunch and then will go upstairs to browse around Bull Market Antiques to work it off!

We are planning a Game Day at Sandee's in April. We'll get together on a Saturday afternoon to play Catch Phrase and whatever else we decide. And of course, we will do what we like to best -- feast on some goodies that we will being with us. Date and time will be decided at the March lunch. So stay tuned...

I've Come a Long Way...
My very first outing with the girls,
Was November two thousand and four.
I bought the smallest hat I could find
and was too timid to walk through the door.

Diana Holliday was my hostess
and she so graciously explained,
All about these ladies called Red Hats
So much knowledge since then I have gained.

Soon after I started Painted Ladies
It was New Year's Day 2005.
The fun I've had since then is awesome
The Red Hats are all so alive!

I attend the Royals Luncheons
They are filled with such glorious chatter.
We share our love and some fun ideas
For an hour, nothing else will matter.

My closet is now filled with purple,
I have splendid Red Hats galore.
Where I first started with just a small one.
I now have thirty four!

2006 was my first Converge
And I really hadn't planned to attend.
Queen Julie convinced me that I should,
But I was sad that it soon had to end!

That weekend was simply delightful
My heart was filled and overflowing.
I nearly passed that opportunity by,
I could have missed it without even knowing,

What a wonderful bunch of Sisters I have,
So special, to my heart very dear.
But all good things have to come to an end,
Now I just can't wait for next year!

  Join the Painted Ladies
Have a desire to have fun? Want to make some friends and have them for life? Like to eat dessert?

Well so do we! But we do much more than just go out to eat - although we DO love to do that!

  • For Easter we have gone to the Childrens' Receiving Home to color eggs and make baskets there with the children who were separated from their parents.
  • We host the Souper Bowl Party every year at JBs where we go for a Bowl of Soup while the rest of the world watches football.
  • We are planning a Mother's Day Tea at The Mercy Home in May for the ladies who are there through no fault of their own.
  • We will soon be planning a trip to 'Havre Beneath The Streets' and the Grand Union Hotel at some time as well.

If you think the Painted Ladies might be the group for you, drop me a line and tell me about yourself. I'll tell you when and where we're meeting next so you can join us.

Why I wanted to be a Red Hat...
In 1992 I found a poem in a little bitty town called Torrington, Wyoming. It was a wonderful poem talking about getting old and wearing purple and 'Making up for the Sobriety of my Youth'. Considering I had my first child at the age of 18 and my sixth one when I was 25 - I felt like I had some missed youth to make up for.

I've raised my husband and kids and it's time for me to have some fun. Wearing our lovely purple clothes and gorgeous Red Hats my chapterettes and I strut our stuff whenever and wherever we can. There are so many things to do and it's so much fun when you do it with your Red Hat Sisters.

So spend some time on yourself and come play Dress-Up with the Painted Ladies!
