Covered in Love!

Each year, participating Project Linus chapters around the country band together to make blankets and spread the work about Project Linus. This year National Make a Blanket Day will be Saturday, February 21, 2009! The Cascade County Extension Office in Great Falls has offered to help us host a Make a Blanket Day to celebrate this event. The MABD will be held at Westgate Mall in Great Falls (near Wal-Mart) on Saturday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Supplies will be available as well as a few sewing machines. There will be supplies for quilts, no-knot fringed fleece blankets and crocheted-edge fleece blankets starting with the skip-stitch blade. All these are very easy... any skill level can help. Sewers are encouraged to bring their own machines, and everyone is welcome to bring materials for a project that they want to create and donate. Drop-offs of finished blankets and financial contributions are also welcome. Everyone is welcome! Westgate Mall is near Wal-Mart. To help Project Linus celebrate our National Make a Blanket Day, Quiltmaker Magazine proudly presents their tenth pattern, Lotsa Pops, for MABD 2009. For those who crochet, another coordinator has 'converted' the Lotsa Pops quilt pattern into a crochet pattern, with the blessing of the Lotsa Pops creator. To obtain this crochet pattern, send an e-mail to GreatFalls.MT@projectlinus.org. As always, donated blankets may be any size/style. Teen sizes are especially appreciated!
