The 2009 Convergence will host a Country Western theme.
Entertainment includes the LeftOver Biscuits on Friday night with dinner. After hours, enjoy a special drink at Red's Wine & Blues. Have a "Menthatpause, Red Ryder Ricochet, Red Radio Flyer or Hot Flash" along with live music starting at 10:30pm.
On Saturday, you can play all day at the Red Lion, from 9-10:30am enjoy a Scrapbook session by "All About Memories" (call 406-892-1999 to reserve a space.) Or 10:30 take a Tour at the Hockaday Museum of Art 302 Second Ave East. 10:45-11:45 Antique Hat Pin history at the Red Lion, with chance to win a hat pin for yourself. 12-1pm View a Vintage Apron Trunk Show, with a chance to win an opportunity apron. There will also be Line Dance lessons from 1:15-2:30. And don't forget that "Fancy Face Design" artist Kaathleen Francis will be available from 3-5pm with special Red Hat Tats for convengence ladies along with other great designs to go with your Bling evening. (Additional charges may apply for some activities). At dinner on Saturday night, enjoy the songs and sounds of our very own local Gretchen Stoner followed by the Singing Sons "O" Beaches. Also, on Saturday, after dinner, you're invited to a Special Private Red Hatters Party "All Male Review" with the HOT BOYZ from Missoula. The show starts at 10:30pm at Red's Wine & Blues.
If you're out and about enjoy shopping on Main Street. Tour the Central School Museum. Shop in the Hotel Fireside Room at the "Bling Boutique" for handmade items from local vendors, along with some "Gently Used Red Hat Items"and the opportunity for a massage if you like. There are also the many vendors that will be at the Kalispell Center Mall, attached to the Red Lion. Keep in mind that many of the local shops are offering discounts to Red Hatters this weekend. Or visit the Conrad Mansion (tours daily).
On Sunday morning enjoy an early breakfast in your pajamas. Jeannie Jingle Tingle our local Laffologist, will be on hand to send us off laughing along with Alberta's Prairies Angels with their original routine. It's sure to be a fun fulled, knee slappin', boot scottin', unforgettable Red Hat weekend.
If you are attending Convergence this weekend, be sure to look through the bag you are given when you check in at the desk on the south entrance of the hotel. Lots of information on places to go and things to do while in Kalispell. If you're headed to the park, Glacier Park that is, be sure to stop at the Dollar Plus Store in Columbia Falls, for some red hat treats.
Wondering what to wear? Friday night is Country Western with "Boots", if you got 'em! Casual regalia colors of course. Saturday night you should dress up for a "Bling" night. It's Country Western dress up night, with lots of sparkle and shine. And on Sunday morning, will it's okay to come to breakfast in your jammies! But don't forget your "Bonnet".
