as of October 23, 2007

October 28, 2007 (Sunday) – Stories and Stones, Missoula City Cemetery, 2000 Cemetery Road – 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - All red and pink hatters are invited to meet Mary Gleim (rhymes with lime) at her gravesite, along the south side of the cemetery, near the main entrance. Look for the crowd and the red hats! Our own Red Hatter, Kim Kaufman, Madame Chest of Drawers (because her chest is falling into her drawers!), portrays Mary Gleim, describing her colorful past as a “businesswoman” in the Red Light District of Missoula’s Front Street in the late 1800s. “Mary” expounds on “truths” and “myths” in a clever and funny exploration of Missoula’s history.

October 30, 2007 (Tuesday) – Halloween Party – Chapter Event – Holy Family Center – 4616 Gharrett, 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m. - Our chapter invites all area pink and red hatters to a red and purple costume party! Get your thinking caps on and come up with a creative costume! Or, if you prefer to not wear a costume, you are still welcome. Just grab a red hat! There will be prizes for the best costumes. Plus games and door prizes! Cost will be $2.00 to cover a donation for the hall. Please bring finger foods to share.

November 1, 2007 (Thursday) – MAME at the Missoula Children’s Theater - 7:45 p.m. – NOTE: Change of date from October 24th! - Several ladies in our chapter are joining the Lolo S.I.L.L.I.E.S. as they gather to watch MAME.

November 3, 2007 (Saturday) Craft Bazaars in Stevensville – 9:30 a.m. – Marjorie Pavlick, Lady Bug, invites her chapter sisters to join her shopping at the Stevensville school bazaar and craft shows on November 3rd. Last year they had a variety of nice craft items, including some Red Hat things. They also serve home made soup and pie. So ...don your red and purple and meet at the Brooks Street Wal-Mart parking lot, near the garden center, at 9:30 a.m. to carpool.

November 3, 2007 (Saturday) – IN THE MOOD, 1940’s Big Band Swing Dance Musical – Wilma Theater – 7:00 p.m. – Six chapter members have purchased tickets for In The Mood: Pat Janes, Lynne Jensen, Doreen Shafizadeh, Angie Tripp and Minnie Fragnito, and Pat Proebstel. We will be joined by Pat Kidder, a wanna-be member who is on our waiting list.

November 13, 2007 (Tuesday) Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Tour – 9:00 a.m to 11:30 a.m. - Enjoy a just-for-seniors guided tour of a wonderful interpretive museum and enjoy a short movie. There are many, many elk to look at and a gift shop as well. Fee is $10. Meet at the Missoula Senior Center. Call 721-PARK to register. Be sure to wear your purple finery and red hat!

November 13, 2007 (Friday), Harvest Tea, Holy Family Catholic Center, 4616 Gharrett 1:00 p.m. NOTE – change of date!!! – The Rosy Red Rascals invite all area pink and red hatters to their annual Harvest Tea. This is always a very nice tea and a lot of fun. A donation will be requested for the use of the hall. Refreshments, games, a 50/50 pot, and, of course, nice prizes. Come for chatter and laughter! RSVP by November 9th to Queen Charlene (Mama Red Bear) at 273-0628.

November 24, 2007 (Saturday) – Chapter Event - Christmas at the Little Red Schoolhouse in the 9-Mile – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – Pat Cummins, Alayne Hilditch, Pam Shelton, Jo Daniels, Nellie McClelland and I re going to the Little Red Schoolhouse for shopping and lunch. I was advised that lunch will be served at 11:00 so let’s meet at the 10:00 at the Linen and Things parking lot NOTE: change in time from 9:15 to 10:00.

December 8, 2007 (Saturday) – Parade of Lights – time and place to be determined – All area red and pink hatters are invited to watch the Macy's Parade of Lights, an illuminated extravaganza parade held after dark in a Christmas theme. This event is fun for all ages. The day's events also include Santa and Mrs. Claus's arrival, the annual lighting of the Christmas tree, Christmas carolers, rides at the Carousel, a bonfire and a holiday art workshop. January 16, 2008 – Coffee at the Mall – Chapter Event – Café Dolce at Southgate Mall – 2:30 p.m. - Marjorie Pavlick, Lady Bug, invites the Tough Old Broads to join her for an informal afternoon coffee break January 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Cafe Dolce in the Southgate Mall. No need to RSVP, just gather there!

April 25, 2008 – Red Hat Society Birthday Party – Missoula Carousel – time to be determined - All area red and pink hatters are invited to celebrate the Red Hat Society’s 10th birthday at the Missoula Carousel. Refreshments and prizes! More information to come as details are completed.

May or June 2008 – Chapter Event – (date to be determined) - One morning in May or June we will go garage saleing. But, since we are “Royalty”, we will arrive, all dressed up in our finery and red hats, in a limousine! Imagine the picture we will make, dressed to the nines, but purchasing those twenty-five cent items! The limo will hold 8 people and the cost is $28 each, which includes the gratuity. We could even hire two limos if enough ladies want to play! If we don’t have enough interest in just our chapter, we will invite other area red and pink hatters to come out and play with us! Fee of $28 to be paid in advance to reserve your seat!
