Message from the President

If you missed the February meeting, you missed: · An energetic Region X Director. Francis Stafford was a delight to have. · Tables decorated for spring. · Food that was “too pretty to eat”. · Informative presentations. · A very short meeting. Bessemer City was host. Our program gave us more reasons to reuse, recycle, and reduce.

At our last meeting, we collected 5 duffle bags for the backpack ministry. There were more than 100 items for the Jared boxes. Thanks to all of you who helped to make this project a reality. We will continue with the same items for the May meeting. Bessemer City- 2 boxes instant grits Cherryville – 6 small cans evaporated milk. Kings Mountain - Boxed Complete Meals Jared Ministry – toys, games, cards, crayons, to fill shoeboxes.

News From the President – In the Eta State News, President Betty Marshall wrote about Pillars and Caterpillars. The pillars are the ones who are the backbone of an organization. (Her example was a church.) The caterpillars are the ones that come to a meeting and leave. This made me think about Beta Epsilon. Our group is full of pillars – women who take the helm and lead. In Betty’s example, the caterpillars slowly cracked their shells and started participating. Do you see Caterpillars in Beta Epsilon? Give them reasons to “crack their shells” and become pillars. We will accept new members in May. Remember to NURTURE them so that we can MAINTAIN new pillars. Connie Bell, President

May 5, 6:00pm, First Baptist Church of Cherryville, Executive Area Meeting/Initiation.

Four members from Beta Epsilon will attend the Eta State Convention in Rocky Mount. You will hear a report at the May meeting. May 5 Meeting.6:00 at First Baptist Church, Cherryville Dinner is $10.00 We have Initiation, Scholarship winner, and a short business meeting. Please plan to come to this meeting. Twelve educators from our area will be initiated at the May 5 meeting. This is quite an increase in our total number.
