Editor's Note
Well, the caravan is over for this year. The team had a wonderful experience and hopefully so did all the people we met. We will leave the site up for the next year or so to keep everyone informed about what is going on after in our lives. Be sure to check in periodically to find out what is happening. Also be sure to look at the photos by clicking on the links. "May God bless you and keep you, may Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."

NEW!!!!
DENMARK: While in Denmark, the caravan visited Copenhagen and Vejle. The Caravan led their first worship service in Copenhagen and everything went well. The group loved interacting with the local kids and church members. They toured the city, went to Tivoli(a theme park), and visited the Jeursalem church, which is the oldest Methodist church in Denmark. At Vejle, the Caravan was treated to a wonderful gospel concert. On Tuesday night, the team held a special service for the church. Also, while in Vejle, the group shopped, went to Lego Land, and had a nice cookout at the church cabin. Thanks to all the hosts in Denmark for such a great time!
NORWAY: The Caravan traveled for three days until they finally reached Soltun. The group stayed at a Methodist Folk High School. They participated in two worship services and interacted with the community. In their leisure time, they went sailing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming in the Artic Ocean. Caving, shopping and hiking were other activities that the group enjoyed. The group was also able to hear a Kulturmix Ecuador concert, and experience the midnight sun.
SWEDEN: The time in Sweeden was delightful. The Caravan traveled to Gotenborg, Granna, and Stockholm. While the stay in Gotenborg was only one night, it was interesting to see how the people felt about Bush and the European Union. At Granna, the team stayed at a wonderful camp for Methodist ministers. We were able to share with a group of confirmands, ministers, and teenagers. The meals there were wonderful and we were able to eat five times a day. In Stockholm, we were able to spend time in worship and see much of the city. The team loved going to the hospital to sing for the patients even though it was raining. Everybody has made special friends in Sweeden. Thank you to our hosts for sharing with us your homes, country, and faith.
Estonia: Estonia was just tremendous. The people there were so welcoming and inspiring. The group traveled to three different churches in four days and held services at each one.The first place the group performed at was at a church in Parnu. The atmosphere was wonderful. Then we went to Haapsalu, and even though we were there for a short while we were able to make wonderful friends and memories. Finaly, the group travled to Tallin. We were able to be a part of a Sunday service at the local church and see the old city.
Finland: This was the last stop for the caravan. It was a wonderful place to catch our breath and give our final services. We ended up giving two full services and participated in the Sunday service before leaving. Helsinki was a great place to make friends in Christ, and share our messages about what the caravan has ment to us.

What Will Happen in Scandinavia?
Well first of all everything is tentative and up to the will of God. Each member of the team has different gifts and will do different things. We plan on singing, performing skits, dancing, giving testimonies, and praying. That is just in the services we are called to lead. The team will interact with the members of the churches we visit by talking, praying, playing games, or whatever is appropriate. The team will also do some sight seeing while going from church to church.
 This Year's Theme
This year, the team has decided to have a theme based on a quote from missionary John Wesley. " If you heart is as mine then give me your hand." This is a great quote for the caravan for many reasons. The team itself is composed of many different personalities, but they all have the same goal at heart- to spread the word of Christ. In Scandinavia, there will be language barriers but the love of God has no limits.

Norm Jones:A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Actually it was only July 29, 1980. Wow 20 years go by fast. Nestled in the foothills of the mountains in western North Carolina, I entered the world in the town of Rutherfordton. Just 9 kilometers away is my hometown of Forest City, NC. Although I've been to 26 states, this will be my first venture to Europe. I have been blessed with three brothers - 2 twins married & living in Charlotte,NC that are 35 years old & 1 younger brother (19) who just finished his first year @ UT.

When I return home from USC, it's my siamese cat which I miss most (not Mom and Dad - but I love them too). Mom is a volunteer guidance counselor and dad works for a phone company(BellSouth). My cat is trained well. He knows when his master comes home and will even perform tricks! Since someone always mentions colors, my favorites are red & black because they were my high school colors and almost satisfy my university colors. I am an international studies or "world politics" major. I have always enjoyed politics and have been active in leadership positions for various organizations on state and national levels. I love trying to find the best in other people. At the university, I remain active in government/political campaigns but also do a great deal of volunteer work. My greatest joy comes from being a youth counselor at a local church and a mentor/teacher at a children's home. I think of those kids as my own. It was not always easy growing up in my family but my mom instilled in me a great love for God at an early age and it continues to shape me today. I enjoy most sports but basketball is by far my best. I even coach a guys church league team in Columbia. Music is also a great love ... all kinds, especially a score from a movie. I could go on forever but I don't like simply talking about myself. God bless, Norm Jones PS - my greatest weakness is chocolate chip cookies. seriously. I hate candy bars but I'm a nut for fresh c-c cookies. ***To Be Continued???

Kendra Penry:Born on June 23,1982, from High Point, NC, and a freshman at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. Plays varsity tennis in singles and doubles, sings in the local church choir where she also participate in the contemporary service by choreographing skits, singing, and playing the flute. She has wanted to go on this Caravan for years and thanks God, her family, and friends for the chance to do so.
Lesa Ramseur: Born on March 23, 1983, she will be a student at Emory and Henry College, Virginia, this fall. Her interests include volunteering with emergency medical services, lifegaurding, talking with people, and traveling. She is extremely excited about going on this trip to share stories with other people.
Tracey Siler: Born February 28, 1981, in Kernersville, North Carolina. She is a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying mathematics and psychology with plans to be a high school math teacher. At the University, she is actively involved in the Wesley Foundation (the Methodist student group), and she attends the University Baptist Church when not away performing with the Wesley Singers. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, reading, and crafts such as doing cross-stitch or making bead bracelets. She also loves spending time with her friends and family, and hopes to make many new friends while sharing her stories and faith with the people in Scandinavia.
Nathan Edwin Triche: Born August 12, 1981, he is from Walnut Cove, North Carolina. Son of Mr. Ward Triche and Mrs. Joyce Triche. A rising junior at Appalachian State University Majoring in Criminal Justice who wants to work in Law enforcement after graduation. Enjoys triathlons, talking people's ears off, and playing the guitar. This is his first Mission trip and he is really excited about going.

What Can You Do to Help?
First of all, this mission needs prayers. God is the center of the Caravan and talking to Him as much as possible can never hurt. CHURCHES!!! Be thinking about this coming summer when the people from Scandinavia will be here in North Carolina. We will need members of the churches to be host and be willing to show the caravan around the state.
