THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 223 donated $4,000.00 TO ELIZABETH CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT K-9 FUND

The American Legion,founded in the year 1919 at the end of WW1,today is the largest wartime veteran organization with nearly 15,000 local posts throughout America and with over two million members who care about America,veterans,their families and our nation's youth, with their number one priority focusing on service to communities. Through various committees--Americanism, Children and Youth, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, National Security, Public Relations, and donations to the Elizabeth City Police Department K-9s, Police Athletic League, churches, Central Children's Home in Oxford, N.C., food banks. homeless shelters, Christmas baskets,etc., the American Legion's vision of service and goals are being realized in the 2lst Century.

THE ECPD K-9 FUND WISHES TO THANK ALL OUR CONTRIBUTORS, BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS ALIKE, IN 2008 and 2009. EVERY EFFORT, LARGE AND SMALL, ENABLED US TO SHOWCASE OUR K-9s AND CREATE AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THEY DO AND HAVE ACCOMPLISHED. WE HAVE REALIZED OUR GOAL. WE NOW HAVE FOUR K-9s, one for each unit.
