The ECPD K-9 FUND established in 2007 by Pat Franzese, Fundraiser Chair, was specifically set up to obtain training equipment and other necessary items to provide for K-9s currently used in law enforcement for the City of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, including adding to the k-9 unit. Originally there were two k-9s and there was a need to increase the unit to four to have 24/7 coverage throughout the city.
WE HAVE MET OUR GOAL OF FOUR K-9s, ONE FOR EACH UNIT. HENCEFORTH, MONIES RAISED WILL CONTINUE TO ENHANCE THE K-9 UNIT. DONATIONS RAISED BY THE K-9 FUND HAVE BEEN PRIVATELY FUNDED.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAD A PART IN BRINGING SUCCESS TO THE K-9'S IMPORTANT WORK--KEEPING OUR CITIZENS SAFE AND A SAFER COMMUNITY BY REDUCING CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.
