cre·ate [kree-eyt] 1.to cause to come into being, as something unique that would not naturally evolve or that is not made by ordinary processes.

As a former creationist. I have come to believe that creation is not possible and nothing has ever been created, MADE yes, but nothing has ever really honestly been created. I know this is just semantics and my thoughts on the way I see things but I really think that it is impossible to create something without first creating the building materials to do so. Otherwise you are just changing one thing from one form to another and that is well... manufacturing... using readily available materials or using those materials to extract materials not so readily available, not creation. To take that which does not exist, combine with other nonexistent materials to create or cause a new something that never existed to come into existence. NOT possible.

Carl Sagan said, “To really make an apple pie from scratch, you must begin by inventing the universe.” I am reminded of the story I used to tell when I was a believer:
One day a group of scientists with nothing better to do, got together and decided that man had finally come so far and so intelligent that they no longer needed God. They formed a committee, selected a board to oversee the committee and then picked one of their top scientist to tell God that that he was now redundant and no longer needed by society. On the date and time selected the officially elected scientist was flown to the highest mountaintop and waited. God, of course, knowing all that goes on went to meet this scientist.

After exchanging some pleasantries the scientist cleared his throat and said, “Yaweh, we've decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can do so many miraculous things now, like heal all sickness and disease. We now clone body parts and even clone an entire human body when a replacement is needed and place the consciousness from the old one into the new. We know can live for ever and just no longer need any god(s) so you are just not needed”

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man. After the scientist was done talking, God said, “Very well, how about this? Let’s say we have a man-making contest.” The scientist thought for a while, checked with the committee, they all voted that would be okay so the scientist replied, “Okay, we accept your challenge!” “But,” God added, “we’re going to do this just like I did back when I created all that is today.” The scientist agreed, bent down and began to scoop dirt into some bags. God looked at him and asked, "Excuse me, but what are you doing?" The scientist replied "I am gathering minerals to extract certain compounds so that I can then construct the building blocks to create life." God smiled and said “No, I created all that is here. You go make your own dirt.”

I see no evidence to show any magical wizard outside of space and time creating all that is. If there is no evidence OF "god" then "god" could NOT have done it. I see the science behind Evolution and agree that those theories are more likely but I do not accept it as a whole. Not that I disagree, just that not totally satisfied, plus I do not have the higher education, degrees in these studies that maybe would help me to understand it more. I do not say it is wrong just that I have not delved into the matter enough to satisfy me.
