The MHF is a non-profit organization that owns and operates the historic Reid House located at 134 West John Street in Matthews, North Carolina for special events. Its membership is made up of volunteers who take very seriously the job of preserving one of the few truly historic homes in this area. The Reid House is a must see when coming to Matthews. It is located one block off Matthews Historic Trade Street.

It is available for special events limited to 99 people. It has been used for numerous weddings in the gazebo, receptions, parties, social occasions, corporate functions and meetings. The Matthews Women's Club Service League holds annual Victorian Teas at the Reid House.
