Welcome to our site ....
Welcome to Pack 527 and the wonderful world of Cub Scouting! Pack 527 serves 1st through 5th grade boys from Asheboro, NC. The pack meets once a month, on the first Monday of the month, in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church of Asheboro. Meeting times are from 7:00—8:15 pm.

The pack is comprised of dens, which are organized by grades. First grade boys join the Tiger den; second grade boys -- Wolf den; third grade boys -- Bear den; fourth grade boys -- Webelos I den; and fifth grade boys -- Webelos II den. Each den is led by one or two den leaders, who are parent volunteers. The first meeting of the month is a Pack meeting, where all of the dens meet together. The den meeting is where the boys will break up into their respective dens and do activities related only to their den. In addition, throughout the year there are also opportunities for pack events such as rocket launches, camping trips, hikes, and other field trips of interest.

Cub Scouting is very much a cub-parent activity. Parents attend meetings with their cub and are encouraged to participate in other ways, too. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in planning meetings, organizing trips, and lending your talent in any way you can think of. The whole family is invited to attend the pack meetings, where past events have been a genius kit night, skit night, cub flea market, robotics demonstration, safety talk by a policeman, and of course the annual pinewood derby!

The boys work toward their badges throughout the school year, completing some of the requirements at the den meetings and some of the requirements at home. The activities are fun and educational, and the boys get a lot out of their accomplishments. Although the boys are encouraged to earn their badges by the end of the school year, it is not a requirement in order for them to progress to the next level in Cub Scouting.
