We are the 16th North Carolina chapter of the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club. We are based in North Wilkesboro, NC and our chapter was officially started in early 2010. We have an active membership that is steadily growing. We have tried to be active in the surrounding communities and supporting fellow firefighters in times of need and we are constantly striving to become even more active in these areas.

Our Mission  * To promote motorcycle safety. * To project a positive image of motorcycling. * To enjoy the brotherhood of FireFighters. * To engage exclusively in social, charitable and educational activities directed at increasing the general understanding of, enjoyment of, competency, sportsmanship and participation in the sport of Motorcycling.

Sorry
Sorry, if we woke you in the middle of the night, but someone in your neighborhood is fighting for their life. Sorry, if we block the road and make you turn around, but there's been a bad wreck with children dying on the ground. When you see us coming I hope you'll understand, let us have the right of way someone needs our helping hand. Sometimes a child is choking, sometimes a broken leg, sometimes a heart stops beating and when we get there it's to late.

So, if you see us crying when we think we are alone, you'll know we had a bad one and we're feeling mighty down. We don't do it for the money you know we don't get paid. We don't do it for the glory, but the life we might have saved. Somewhere deep within us, our souls are crying out, we're here to help our neighbors in their hour of pain and doubt. God gave us something special to help us see you through, we do it cause we love you and care about you too.

Firefighter's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God, Where ever flames may rage Give me the strength to save some life, Whatever be its age. Help me embrace a little child before it is too late, Or save an older person from The horror of that fate. Enable me to be alert, And hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently To put the fire out. I want to fill my calling and To give the best in me, To guard my every neighbor and Protect his property And if, according to your will I have to give my life, Please bless with your protecting hand My children and my spouse.  Motorcyclist's Prayer
Lord, thank you for the open air. The feel of wind blowing through my hair. Just me alone upon my bike. The thrill of freedom's what I like. To wind through country unexplored. Not knowing what I'll see next Lord. That's what I seek when off I ride. I'm thankful that you're by my side. If I should ride 'til morning's light. Please keep me safe throughout the night. And when I've come to journey's end. It's you I'll thank - Protector, Friend.

OUR CURRENT PROJECT: We are currently in the process of funding and constructing a fallen firefighter memorial for all Wilkes county firefighters who have died in the line of duty, passed while being a member of a fire department, or who have retired from the fire service after serving at least twenty years and later passed away. The memorial will be made of brick pavers layed out in the form of a maltese cross. Each paver will contain the name of a fallen firefighter, the department they served, and either their fallen date or their number of years served. We have drawings and some materials at this point. We are searching for a small plot of land in a centralized location in the county where the memorial could be readily viewed by the community. Bricks are available for sponsor for $12.00 each (the cost of engraving). If you would like to sponsor a brick please contact any club officer. All help will be greatly appreciated by the Red Knights and the families of the fallen firefighters that this memorial will honor.
