Pictures from the 2007 Event

If anyone has pictures or a story of the 2008 event and would like to share'em with us, please send them to us below.

Your feedback will help us in planning the 2009 event.

2007:
Our event started as an outing for a Cub Scout Den. The more we talked about it, the larger it grew. Last year we introduced 82 boys from the age of 7 to 18 to the great outdoors. The boys got to shoot BB Guns and Archery, they studied game habitat and conservation, they were taught gun handling and safety, they got to fish with state wildlife biologists and pro bass fisherman, and were introduced to the animals around them.

Presented by Gander Mountain of Greensboro

Cub Scout Pack 513 and Boy Scout Troop 513 are hosting our second annual Scout Hunt-N-Fish Day on May 3rd, 2008. Our event introduces the great outdoors to youth and their families. They attend a full day of events that are designed to teach them outdoor skills, hunter safety, hunter education, Gun Handling and Safety, Introduction to wild animals, Fishing with NC State Biologists and Pro-Bass Fisherman, Wildlife conservation, etc. We may even be creating traditions that will last a lifetime.

The cubs and boys will be attending two seperate events and gathering at the end of the day at the dining hall for the food and door prizes. You must be present to win door prizes.

The cub event, to be for 300 cub scouts, will be held at the Camp Woodfield side, located 6 miles out of Asheboro N.C. just off of Tabernacle School Road. Check in at the headquarters station in the large parking lot. They will go thru 9 different stations. Bring your own lunch.
Cub Scouts must have adult supervision.

The Boy Scout event, to be for 100 boy scouts, will be held on the primitive side of camp woodfield just off of Garren Town Road. Check in at the canopy inside the primitive parking lot. They will go thru 7 different stations.Bring your own lunch.
The cub and boy scouts will gather together at the end of the day in the dining hall for snacks and door prizes. They will also also receive gifts bags with all sorts of goodies. We make sure each youth has something in the hands when they leave.

We are pleased to annouce that we will be having hotdogs and hamburgers in the dining hall at 5:30 complements of Gander Mountain of Greensboro

All cub and boy scouts will leave the event through the camp woodfield parking lot, off of Tabernacle School Road.

It is suggested that all scouts should be in class A uniform.
Boy's Life and Scouting Magazine will be covering the event this year.

Our event was founded upon it being offered at no cost to the boys. We are proud of that and want to keep it that way.

The only cost involved this year is a three dollar registration fee. (this covers the event patch as well)

Download sign up forms, schedules, and maps below.

Sign ups for both events have closed, they are full at this time.

We could use any help that you could give us. From promotional products to door prizes for the event, any literature, items, gear, lunch items, etc. Anything that will create a good memory for these boys, would be appreciated.
If you have someone or organization that would like to help us in showing the wonders of the outdoors to our youth, please contact us below.
I would like to thank everyone for helping make a difference in the youth of our community.
Thanks
Mike Baker.

We are in the process of updating this website to include the Program for this year so check it for new information regularly.

When the regsistration sign ups closed and the event was full the council started sending the sign up forms and registration fee back.

If you have not received anything back in the mail then that should mean you are signed up for the event. You can call the council office and confirm your registration to be sure.
