Bringing the Great Outdoors to the Youth of Our Communities
Our event introduces the great outdoors to youth and their families. They attend a full day of events that are designed to teach them outdoor skills, hunter safety, hunter education, Gun Handling and Safety, Introduction to wild animals, Fishing with NC State Biologists and Pro-Bass Fisherman, Wildlife conservation, etc. We may even be creating traditions that will last a lifetime.
Our event was founded upon it those principles. We are proud of that and want to keep it that way.
2007: The First Event
Our event started as an outing for a Cub Scout Den. The more we talked about it, the larger it grew. We introduced 82 boys from the age of 7 to 18 to the great outdoors at the first event in 2007.The boys got to shoot BB Guns and Archery, they studied game habitat and conservation, they were taught gun handling and safety, they got to fish with state wildlife biologists and pro bass fisherman, and were introduced to the animals around them.
2008 300 cubs and 100 boy scouts attended our 2008 event. It was presented by Gander Mountain of Greensboro. The event was split into two seperate events, cub were at Camp Woodfield, while the boys were on the primitive side of Woodfield. They gathered at the end of the day in the dining hall where Gander Mountain provided hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone. We also had a drawing for numerious prizes. All received gift bags, t-shirts, and Hats.
Boys life covered the event and it will be in the May/June 2009 magazine.

Download the correct sign up form below and get it to the scout office for registration.
We could use any help that you could give us. From promotional products to door prizes for the event, any literature, items, gear, lunch items, etc. Anything that will create a good memory for these boys, would be appreciated.
If you have someone or organization that would like to help us in showing the wonders of the outdoors to our youth, please contact us below.
I would like to thank everyone for helping make a difference in the youth of our community.
Thanks
Mike Baker.
