Game or Addiction?

Check this out!!– www.smallball.com. Sounds like an innocent enough thing to tell a friend right? So I did. A few quick clicks of the mouse, and I had my very own team. How exciting!

Now what do I do? I started looking at the information on the home page. “This is great!” I told the guys in my office. It’s a simple game. You don’t even have to watch the whole thing. It will play by itself, all I have to do is train them and send them into battle.

A few minutes here and there reading the “Getting started” section, that’s all I need. It was all very innocent. Then I found the “Home Plate News”. What a concept!!, every other week, I can see what’s new and how other SmallBallers are doing. Still not a big deal, a few minutes a day to train my team, and off they go to take on the world.

Here comes the trouble. What’s that link for “Game Forum”? Great, a place to find out more and more information! I’m gonna be good at this. I’ve got a question, I think I’ll post it. (Ouch – was that a flame thrower?) Well, I guess that question has been asked 100 times before. Alright, I’ve still got it under control. A few minutes a day training, a few minutes at the forum, a few minutes on the home page, It’s still just a few minutes a day!

Darn, I never should have looked at those chat rooms! What a concept, I chatted with the commissioner. A game where you can talk to the man in charge! What’s a few more minutes a day?

Well, since I have all this time, maybe another team to keep my guys company. What’s that you say? “You need to get DT, It will save you training time.” Now I’ve got it back under control, I can make up all that time by using DT to train, And my teams will rocket to the top!

So here I sit typing up a quick little history of how “The Newbies” got started. I think I’ll skip the whole trading section of the “History of the Newbies” Suffice it to say, there are several farm league teams.

But really, It’s just a game!!!!
