Hello and Welcome to the Western North Carolina
Gourd Patch Website

We formed our Patch back in 2001 to further the art and craft of
working with gourds. We are a group of gourd enthusiasts ranging
from newcomers to professionals, and growers, who love to get
together and share our knowledge of creating gourd art. We offer
a number of wonderful workshops; details of which can be viewed
by clicking on WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS in the left hand column
of this page. Our teachers are experienced gourd artists who share
with us their love of working with gourds.

If you are interested in learning more about the art and craft of
working with gourds, please come visit us in Asheville.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MEMBERS!!

To Marianne Barnes, who won second place for her beautiful "Old Faithful" gourd in The American Gourd Society's
"Gourd Crafting Contest". This is such a beautiful gourd and a great tribute to the USA. Marianne's work can be seen
in the Spring 2006 issue of "The Gourd Magazine", a publication of the American Gourd Society, and her website
listed under the "Links" section.

Old Faithful: Marianne Barnes

To Auty Morrisey, who has been accepted as a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. This is no small
achievement and we are proud of you Auty. Please see Auty's work on his website listed under the "Links" section,
and his work can also be viewed on the "Handmade in America" website.

Tenerife: Auty Morrisey

To Virginia Saunders, whose tutorial on Tenerife was published in The American Gourd Society's "The Gourd Magazine". What a great
article! Virginia has kindly given us permission to reproduce this tutorial and it can be found under "Tutorials" in the
