GFWC Fairmont Woman's Club

About Us

The GFWC Fairmont Woman’s Club is located in Fairmont, Nebraska, which is a small rural community with a population of 690. We have 24 members that are active in the many programs of GFWC. These programs include the Arts, Education, Conservation, Home Life, International Outreach,Public Issues, Community Improvement,Membership, Leadership, and Public Relations. The members also enjoy the fellowship of the club; bonding into a family.

. The Fairmont club was organized in January 1916 and joined the Federation in March of that year. The object of the club was "Mutual Improvement and Civic Betterment".

It is our hope that you will look at our pages on this site and you will find something that sparks your interest in joining the greatest volunteer organization for women. Our programs offer a wide variety of places you can get involved. You can not only enrich your own life but the lives of others.

A PLACE FOR YOU

Today I found a place where I belong
A place that longs to hear my song.
A place women go to learn, to grow,
To help people they don’t even know.
A place where women join together as a team
And everyone is held in high esteem.
They plan projects and programs big and small
For them each obstacle just takes a fall.
With full and rich lives they are aglow
Because they are women in the know.
By now I know the place you’ve guessed
It the GFWC Women’s Club, the best.
Now aren’t you glad you have belonged
To the best volunteer club all along.
