Hello Heartland Stitchers!

The Lincoln Needleworkers Guild is proud to be hosting the Spring 2010 Heartland Region EGA Meeting, April 9th thru 11th, 2010 in Lincoln, Nebraska. This event will be held at the Country Inn & Suites at 5353 N. 27th Street, just a bit south of Interstate 80.

The hotel has set aside a block of rooms so ask for the EGA Heartland Meeting when you call to reserve your room. See the hotel letter for prices and telephone number. Registration is open on October 15, 2009 and will close on February 24, 2010. Mail your registration check and form to Pam Green (listed on the Registration Form).

Heartland Region recently created a new format for this meeting, called a ‘mini-seminar’. It is unique in that there will be no classes offered. This is a great chance to bring your own projects to stitch. It provides you some quality time to work on those neglected UFO’s. You will have time to chat with stitchers from all over the Region, which can lead to new ideas, solution of stitching problems, and best of all, new friends.

We have organized an optional tour and special lecture at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum on Saturday afternoon. More information is at www.quiltstudy.org. We will also showcase our very own Susan Curtis on Friday evening. She will share her knowledge of textile preservation for your precious needlework pieces.

The Saturday evening banquet is included in your registration fee. Other meals are on your own. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast free of charge for guests. The internal restaurant, Beacon Hills is available for lunch and dinner. There are several other restaurants in the area as well. A few of these will be featured in your registration packet.

Please bring your favorite stitched name tag for a lighthearted judging by your peers. A voting box will be provided, and votes will be counted for the favorite name tag. A prize will be awarded at the Saturday evening banquet.
