President's Letter Hi All! Wow, I don’t know about you but I can hardly believe it is already 2010. The last year just flew by and it was a busy one for our guild. We had 3 community service projects (the Kissing Pillows, Heritage League Tree, and the Habitat for Humanity samplers) and the show. I think everybody deserves to be congratulated for all that was accomplished in 2009. Of course now we get to look forward to what will be going on in 2010. I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m having a ball stitching the How Does Your Garden Grow sampler. I can’t wait to stitch the next section and of course see how everybody else is doing. Watching everybody’s color choices develop as we progress has been interesting. Then in March there is the Gretna Retreat (if you are new to the guild talk to one of the older members about the retreat and consider coming if only for a day). Not sure what it says about me that I plan my vacation time so that I never miss the Retreat. In April we will be hosting the Regional Mini-Seminar, I know Gini and a lot of others have been working hard at getting ready for this. And for me 2010 also brings another transition – that from newsletter editor to chapter President. It is already a bit weird to be writing this letter instead of just sticking it into the newsletter. But I know Carol Ann is excited to be taking on the task of the newsletter editor and will do a great job at it. I can’t think of anything else to say at this point so I guess this is goodbye for now. Happy Stitching! Joy |
