Drums are one of many instruments that are still used today that have existed for many generations. The drums are obviously a favorite of many average people & musicians today. Drums were originally brought into existance by indians who would use them as signals of war & even musical traditions of all types.There are many drums that exist other than those that are commonly used today. Some are foreign & others just simple ones that originated from generations ago.
The saxophone was originally invented by Adolph Sax who was, like us, fond of music. Like some students would do in a class room during the music teachers absence; Adolph Sax would mix mouthpieces with different instruments. Once, he took the mouth piece of a clarinet & placed it onto a brass instrument, & the saxophone was born!The saxophone is one instrument that has not changed over the years from its original quality & style.
The piano is another favorite of many people. The piano is probably the most commonly favored instrument of all time. The piano is used in many music styles today, be it gospel,classical,easy listening,world, contemporary & many more! The piano is also an instrument under the percussion section as a result of tapping the keys or rather "hit" them as are the drums. The piano has been used by many famous musicians & play an important role in the world of music.
Many people assumed that the Viola is the same as a Violin, only smaller. But the true facts state that the Viola is approximately 5-8 cm. longer than the Violin and is capable of being played two octaves lower than the Violin. Some Violas (depending on brand or style) have an additional (fifth) string.
The Mandolin is another nice instrument to speak of. Many people suggest that those who are capable of playing the Violin can play the Mandolin as well. The Mandolin's strings are identically tuned to those of the Violin.The Violin has four strings, but the mandolin has an additional string to each of the violin's four.
