Our Chapter has a great partnership with General Crook House Museum. ONA recently designed several stitched projects on behalf of Crook House. All of the designs will be available for sale at the Crook House gift shop, at local needlework shops, and through Omaha Needle Artists. Optional material packs of fabric and floss are sold separately.
  • Crook House Sampler: On Sale Now! A traditional motif sampler featuring stitched bands based on design elements of the Crook House and a front view of the house. The chart has been designed and a model stitched. We presented the charts to the Crook House for sale in their gift shop at the Douglas County Historical Society's annual meeting, March 16, 2003. Charts and material packs are available.

    Crook House Sampler Charts: $6.00

  • Crook House Garden: On Sale Now! This counted thread embroidery uses specialty stitches, such as smyrna cross and french knots to recreate the famous Crook House gardens. A rooftop view of the gardens highlights the oriental rug designs used in the pattern of the blooming plants. The gardens are designed and planted each year by Kinghorn Gardens guided tours are held each summer during the Garden Walk (held in conjunction with ONA's Showcase, June 23-29, 2003). Visitors can't take cuttings from the garden, but they can stitch their very own! Charts and material packs are available.

    Crook House Garden Charts: $6.00

  • Crook House Redwork: Next up on the drawing board, these embroidery designs are a reproduction of a pair of antique hand-embroidered pillowcase in the Crook House. Patterns will be available.

Omaha Needle Artists would like to thank A Stitch in Time and Crafty Needle needlework shops for their generous donation of fabric for this project!
