Welcome to the website of Omaha Needle Artists!
We are Chapter 141 of The Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc. We are a friendly bunch of people who enjoy stitching and the company of other stitchers. If you enjoy needlework, would like to learn, or have ever been told you might be a "needlework junkie," then Omaha Needle Artists is for you!
Note: One of our members entered the county fair. Her iris picture won "Best of Class".Congratulations!
The Omaha Needle Artist would like to invite you to spend some time with us. We are a fun group. We spend time laughing, talking and a small amount of time stitching.
Evening Meetings are held the first Monday of each month (unless Monday is a holiday) at All Saints Episcopal Church, 9302 Blondo Street. Business meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. with program to follow unless otherwise noted.
Day Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at All Saints Episcopal Church, 9302 Blondo Street. Meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. with program to follow unless otherwise noted.
Stitch-Ins: Held on the Third Monday of the month, 7:00 p.m. at Border’s Café, 72nd & Dodge and the Third Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church.
- Foster high standards of design, color, and workmanship in embroidery
- Teach the embroidery arts, and
- Preserve our needle arts heritage.
EGA chapter membership includes membership in EGA, a subscription to Needle Arts magazine, the Chapter newsletter, and the opportunity to participate in study, skill-building, and educational opportunities through EGA. President’s Message
Dear Omaha Needle Artists,
Wow! This newletter caught me off guard, and Judi needs some words of wisdom from me ASAP! That is truly a scary thought, since words of wisdom are hard to come by at my house. I have enjoyed a number of Sunday afternoons at the informal stitch-in that Judi hosts at her shop in Plattsmouth, and today was no exception. The friendships are great, and the opportunity to shop always makes it even more fun.
My group correspondence course project is DONE, and I will be bringing it for your critique at this month’s meetings. Otherwise, I am plugging away at my UFO’s as are many of you. This has been a great incentive to get some of those old weary projects out of the Stash box.
I hope you are enjoying your summer, and will be enthusiastic for the upcoming fall programs and opportunities. We have a retreat at Gretna and a Regional Fall Meeting in Wisconsin both on the same weekend in October.
Election of officers will be sooner than we realize. Please consider what role you are able to fill for the Guild, and be open to saying yes if you are asked to be on the slate of officers.
