Leaders Tips for Scouts

Tiger Tips

Young Tigers are very eager to see what Scouting is all about. Get them involved with Pack Activities! For Den Tips; Gatherings are a great way to keep the boys entertained prior to the opening of the meeting. Have them draw or paint their Family Activity that they recently completed.

If you need help in training for your new position please contact Jennifer Sullivan or a fellow den leader for assistance. We be happy to share our past experiences with you.

Wolf & Bear Tips

Did you know that you can visit NASA for fun activities that goes towards their achievements? Have them visit with a parent at home or with a den, or even better print out for your gathering activity. http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/k-4/index.html or visit the link on this page under Scouting Fun Page.

The Bears will soon be moving onto Webelos soon, to help prep them have them do a family camp in the summer. This will help them prepare with their camping experience as they move onto their new goals.

Let the Wolves and Bears get involved in “Scouting” Songs and Skits, some are real fun for other kids to get involved and they get to act silly. Some suggestions; Peel Peel Banana, Show us your Chicken, etc.

Webelos Tips

Getting ready to take their steps in earning their Arrow of Light, Crossing Over and becoming Boy Scouts.
This transition will be easier if you plan our your Den Activities for the Achievements that are required for them to earn their Arrow of Light. They have two years to earn this but require a lot of work.

Camping Tip: Your Webelos are required to attend a sleep over with the Boy Scouts to help earn his Arrow of Light, have him attend Camp Carpenters Resident Camp. This will give him a feel what it will be like not camping with their parents as Boy Scouts. Camp Carpenter’s Resident Camp is for a week in the summer, volunteer leaders will attend, your Webelos can earn a free trip if he earns enough fundraiser dollars for his Hike A Thon in April.
If you like to camp out with the Boy Scouts they love to have you...contact Cliff Cray and I am sure we can set you up with one of our wonderful adventures.
