Early Release for the Last Day of School
All students will be dismissed early on the last day of school, Friday, June 12th. Field day activities will be held in the morning at the big ball field, followed by a cookout and then dismissal for summer vacation. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!! See you on August 26th!!
There are still lots of unclaimed items down by the cafeteria. All unclaimed items will be donated to the thrift shop at the end of the year.
GES students will be taking NEWA test starting on Monday, May 18th. Please remind your children the importance of trying their best and to take these tests seriously.
At the end of Feb. 2009 we will no longer be collecting Shaw's Receipts. Instead, Shaw's will give 1% back to Groveton Elementary School for every purchase made with a Shaw's Rewards Card on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays linked to Groveton Elementary School. You must go to www.albertsons.com/cp/shaws/ (see link on the left hand side of our home page)and enter your Shaw's card number. Your Shaw's card number can be found on the back of your Shaw's card.
If you still have any Shaw's Receipts that you have not sent into school, please do so before Friday, Feb. 20th. Any receipts received after Feb. 20th will not earn us credit for our school. We sincerly appreciate all your help saving Shaw's Receipts for our PTO, to date we have earned over $2,200.00 from Shaw's Receipts. We hope this new program will be just as successful for us.
Plus, the first classroom who has 1 Shaw's card registered online per student will win an ice cream party from PTO. Families with multiple students only need to register once, and you will be counted for each child.
